Could have been better! by jknight48944826

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

In general the cruise was fine.  However,  the food and service on the Navigator seem to have taken a turn for the worse over the past few years.  This trip was my 3rd on the Navigator and I was disappointed mainly because of reference to past cruises on the ship.  I feel that the food quality has been cut and the service has suffered somewhat.  Also,  I was disappointed that the ship seems to need to have a better routine maintenance program as I noticed many minor things that needed fixing.

It's been a long time since I was last on a cruise.  After this trip, I am sure I will be back again!!!!  The Navigator is an amazing ship and you packed so many activities in to it.  There is literally something for everyone.

Good cruise beautiful ship by kenandjanetritz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Nvigator is a beautiful ship.  Many drink venues, specialty shops,  several pools and hot tubs.   The food was excellent.   Dining in the specialty restaurants was a  culinary experience.   There were a couple of drawbacks, we felt.  There were very few stewards on deck taking orders, this left 3000 people trying to place their orders at the bar.   We did not enjoy the entertainment at the theater,  but were unable to find room at the schooner bar to listen to the piano there.  I think everyone else felt as we did and went there instead of the theater.   All in all it was a very nice cruise and we enjoyed it.

Great trip by ladyp214

My favorite part of the trip was arriving onboard being greeted warmly and the snticipation of what was to come. That feeling was awesome. In addition the fantastic selection of food was also a fave and great bonus to a great trip. Lastly the entertainment was excellent. From karaoke to the headliner shows. No complaints.

Great Experience by aishaj28

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The best part of the cruise was the ship and staff. They were so helpful and the ship had so many activities! I had been on a Royal Caribbean cruise before and it was just as I remember it, unforgettable. My family and I booked our next cruise right on the ship! The only downside was that it was cold the first couple of days in Miami and headed to the Bahamas. We loved the Bahamas! Cozumel was a bit more touristy than me and my family are used to but the cenote Cristalino was beautiful and we had a great time.

Beautiful ship and great entertainment by Pvy311

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This ship is immaculate! No matter where you go there was always friendly faces and good service. We bought the speciality dining package for 3 nights and it was really worth it. The food and service is exceptional! Would recommend Chops Grille and Giovanni's. The entertainment on this cruise was by far better than any I have seen (a good comedian, a terrific singing group, ice skating that was incredible, a circus parade on the Royal Promenade, and a fun 70's dance party). Our stateroom overlooked the Royal Promenade which was fun for people watching. We were on the 8th floor so the noise did not bother us at all.

Overall we had a wonderful trip and I would highly recommend this cruise!

Fun, comfortable, great dining experience and good on board activities. Wished I could have stayed a lot longer, instead of going back to the real world!

Relaxed by NewPortRichey

Cruised Jan 29- Feb 3 to Nassau and Cozumel. Great cruise! Loved Navigator of the Sea the open floor plan on deck 5. Dancing in the streets was especially fun when the weather is not coorperating. Food was great in the dinning room, didn't eat at the buffet except lunch one day and breakfast. They have restaurants for extra fees. Balcony room was great, slept with the doors open. Just wish they had a better affordable drink plan. People try to get the most out of the beverage package and end up drinking to much. Wish they offered discounted drink tickets. Also water prices are ridiculous. (Carnival offers water you can have delivered to your room, 12 pack about $4.00) Loved the Ice Skating show. Liked watching people surf on the flowrider, and rock climbing. Nobody was winning at the Casino slot machines. Just enough to suck you in, but some fun games. Weather was great. Took a taxi for $12.00 to Chankanoob Park in Cozumel $21.00 Admission. dolphins, manatees and sea lion shows, crocodiles, pools, nice beach, snorkeling, diving, zip line, tequila tasting, restaurants and $6.00 drinks on the beach. Extra charge to swim with the Dolphins, snorkel was $15.00 to rent equipment and extra charge to zipline and diving. I would do this cruise again!

Surprisingly Better Than the Reviews We Read Before Going! by pcbr57

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The food was outstanding & the waiters were just as outstanding.  Our Stateroom Attendant, Kevin Saunders, was the best we have ever had on previous ships. We hope anyone going on the Navigator of the Seas gets lucky enough to have him!  The ship band for all the shows was excellent!  The trumpeter in this band could have put on his own show with his incredible playing.  The Ice Show is not to be missed & the comedians were very funny.  We had beautiful weather everywhere we went & Bonaire had the best water for snorkeling & scuba diving of ANY of the stops.  You could just walk from the ship along the beach & see fish everywhere in the crystal clear water!  The cruise director, Cuddy, WAS SO FUNNY!

Worst Ever by berkleyfax

I will never sail this ship again, the ship was full of Ukrainians over 1300. You would have thought that they owned the ship. People smoking any where they like. Could not get a chair on the Lido deck because of people marking them with towels, and walking away for hours at a time. I have never been aboard a ship to were, I could bring my own music.

Wintertime Escape by creamtealover77

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Jessica and Martin in the dining room were excellent. Likewise, our stateroom attendant, Greg, was outstanding as well. The food was good. Entertainment was outstanding; however, we would like to have seen more dancing by the featured ballroom dancing couple. The Armenian poolside activities on day 9 were excessive in time. Cruise Director was great. There was a snafu with one of the scheduled activities; line dancing was listed in the compass as being in one of the lounges; but instructor showed up at poolside which left those of us in the lounge waiting for 1/2 hour. The beach in Aruba we attended on our excursion was very underwhelming; although the boat ride was nice.

Wouldn't do royal Caribbean again with kids by ladeirdra

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group

Formal night getting  dressed up. And being in your room is like being stuck in the movie ground hog day, the TV play the same show over and over and over again, I means the same exact show , so be prepared to pay, $12 for movies they show on the big screen on deck, that you can't  hear

Great Service shame about the food. by garethballah1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The service and the room were my favourite parts of the trip.

My stateroom attendant Yorleny was absolutely wonderful, attentive, patient and professional and deserves all the credit for making my stay so enjoyable. She is Costa Rican I believe. The stateroom was roomy and clean and the balcony was awesome and peaceful, except that some idiot decided to smoke on the balcony one night, which was not cool.

We went to two specialty restaurants, Giovani's was quite good and the service was very good. The food was alright, but I am not a fan of Italian food, the presentation was great.

Chops grill on the other hand was a disaster, your chef or your waiters kept getting the orders wrong so I saw a few customers sending back their steaks, my steak was well done when it should have been medium, but I di not have the energy to send it back. Plus our waiter spent to much time chatting rather than trying to get things right, not good at all, and I would not recommend that restaurant.

we ate in the main dining area for the last 3 nights and this was all in all a much better experience.  Service was efficient, polite, friendly and attentive, a very good balance. I aslo had the lamb shank, lamb chops and roast beef which were all cooked to perfection, all in all a much better dining experience.

All other amenities were on point as is to be expected and I would like to make a special mention of Daniel the bar tender at the Vintage Wine bar for his service and again patience for the Tapas. While there weren't any people there, I still felt he spent just the right amount of time explaining the wines and cheese pairings, good job.

Had it not been for the Chops Grill experience you may have gotten four stars. Oh and the Windjammer was not bad at all either considering the high turnover of guests.

Equally had it not been for Yorleny my stateroom attendant you would definitely have gotten two stars.

First, and probably last, cruise by mplasman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Not at all what I was expecting.  There were way too many crowds and lines, the boarding process was just awful, shore excursions were rushed and unsatisfying, the food, while plentiful, was mediocre, and guest services personnel were indifferent.  For example, even though we were directed to rely on the in-room TV to find out about activities, amenities, entertainment, our account, etc., the remote control, which was the only way to operate the TV, malfunctioned continually and was never fixed even after we called at least four times requesting service or replacement.  Even though we made advance reservations daily for our evening dining, there was still a line.  Breakfast was available in the dining room or as room service, but came to the room cold.  To get a cup of coffee or any beverage, even a glass of cold water that didn't come from the bathroom in a little glass, required a trip up the elevators to the massive main dining area, which reminded me of a huge Golden Corral. The regular pool was crowded and always had very loud music playing and the adults-only pool was tiny.  Finding a couple of decent lounge chairs by the pool or a table in the buffet style dining room was a chore, unless you went at off hours. Two bright spots - the waiters in the sit-down dining room and all the evening entertainment were excellent.  And thank heavens we opted for the additional cost of a balcony state room, which, while narrow, was well laid out and quite comfortable.  I don't think I could have abided staying in a smaller room without open air access to the ocean. And, of course, there is no beach unless you opt for shore excursions at additional cost.  Yes, the towel animals on the bed were cute, and the ship appeared clean and well kept, but all in all, this just isn't for me.  I much prefer a resort, hotel or cabin for my future vacations.
