Review summary

Overall we had a great 3 night cruise. We only ate at specialty dining since we had the package. All wait staff and bartenders were fantastic. Our state room was clean and fresh smelling. Witnessed the lifeguards save kids at 2 different occasions. Bravo! And witnessed security shushing a couple of unruly teenagers disrupting the entertainers as they were singing. Bravo! Would def sail on NOTS again next time I’m in the mood for a short trip on a mid-sized ship.

Food and Dining

We are at all the specialty dining restaurants and they were all great. We only ate at the windjammer during breakfast and it was fine. We didn’t get to try the MDR on this ship.

Onboard Activities

The pools are small but they were never full. We were able to find prime seating at the pool deck and a day bed in the solarium at around 10am. We only got to try the waterslide with the double seater tube, it was fun. Not too scary. Tip, make sure you lift your butt above the slide when you sit in the tube unless you want to bump your butt into the slide, and the person in the front will get water splashed in your face.

Cabin 6309 on NOTS was good for us as a couple, it would be too tight for two people who are not in a romantic relationship. There is a tight squeeze between the foot of the bed and wall. The Promenade view window faces the chandelier so you can’t really see the main Promenade space. The noise from the live music can be heard pretty loudly so bring ear plugs if you sleep before midnight. Otherwise a great room, mid ship and conveniently close to elevator and stairs.

Organized and friendly staff. Lots of parking spaces close to check in. The directions were confusing as it seemed we were doing U-turns to get there so we got lost and entered the wrong cruise line entrance. Luckily we asked the staff and figured out before we parked. It took us about 10 mins to get on the ship, and even faster to leave since we carried our own luggage off. There isn’t much to see around the area other than a shipping container yard. Allow for extra time if to drive in since there are many slow moving big rigs moving in and out of the area.
