Review summary

Weekend crowd would not do again especially high season. Avoid sun lounger injuries! Everything else was pretty great!

Embarkation

Although they allowed people With a check in time 30 mins later than mine it was smooth easy and generally fast. So much better than an airport!! Kinda like the temporary structure too. Very airy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Ok went back and forth on this one. Chops was amazing. 5 stars. Service was impeccable, but all I will say is they rushed the service. I am sure if you are a group it will be better paced. But my plates was removed and next course came within 2 mins. I prefer a little breathing time between courses. Hookd. Hmmmm. Restaurant was empty at 7pm. Again everything was rushed even more than Chops. Did not like the lobster tail in surf and turf at all. Was fishy and tough. Dessert of lime pie was stunning. Rest was pretty bad! Did not do MDR due to accident, but Pizza at the cafe was sooooo good. But lines are a bit of a problem

Onboard Activities

Disclaimer, did not do water slides. Pool Was always too busy to get in. Also outside temps were not really inviting to get in pool although did feel water and felt ok temp wise. Ok let’s talk about hot tubs! Ok might have been the time of year (end of May hardly spring break!) from 8am til at least 10 or 11pm every single hot tub had a group of at least 15 people in them. Yuck!! And the supposed quiet adult area always had big groups playing their own music and making a lot of noise. Almost intimidating! I loved the broadway show and the ice show was amazing!!! And the quizzes were happening all over the ship. Although quizzes were held in smaller venues so filled up quick

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Ice show. Incredible. I always watch the skating at Olympics etc so was invested but wasn’t looking forward to being crammed in Studio B. Complete opposite. Show was stunning. And lots of space. Big tip, if you don’t like crowds you can just get a drink and watch show standing up from bar. Very much recommend! Showgirls I thought would be dreadful. So glad I was wrong! Once again theatre was relatively empty and you can just stand at back. Singers amazing and lightning incredible. Very very surprised!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Ok. Hmmmm. Service was good but there were waits. Cafe promenade only had 2 people each time I went and they looked a little overwhelmed. But got served within 10 mins and pizza was great. Most bars apart from lime and coconut had only 1 server. Do every bar was slow. They threw all staff on the pool bar and was always someone roaming to take orders. So hot and miss. Hopefully they will staff up in time

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Excellent. Saw no litter or dirt. Ship layout is really easy even though it was smaller than I thought from watching videos. Good job RCL!!!

Ship tip

I have not done the week day sailing but I will say the weekend cruise was very party focused and manifested itself in the use of pools and hot tubs. Lots if groups hogging water facilities and being loud. If that’s not your thing recommend not sailing on a weekend cruise. Didn’t bother me too much but would have liked to try a pool or hot tub at least!

Disembarkation

Ok this is a bit weird. On day 2 I had a bad experience with s deck 4 sun chair? Well It was this very low to ground lounger with metal arm rests. Anyway, I plonked myself down without thinking and was slightly off center and the whole thing just tipped over. I hit my ribs on the metal arm and ended up in a heap with a trash can on top of me. Very embarrassing! Anyway took myself to bed with some help of great passengers and security and woke up next day with some broken ribs. Safety Alert’ careful if deck 4 sun chairs! Disembarkation was a mess. Everyone walks towards customs however no one told me To pick up luggage. It’s just there. So before you queue for customs just go pick up your luggage then join the line, unlike me that spent 30 mins in line before asking the luggage question!! Anyway quick Tip. If you ask a porter for help they put luggage on a trolley and you fast track through customs! Well Worth a $10 tip!
