Review summary

We had a great weekend cruise. I was not a huge Royal Caribbean fan and was ready to give them another try and on the same ship. It was definitely a redemption cruise and I was super impressed with the new additions to the ship and to the amazing service. The specialty dining and bar selections were fantastic. I enjoyed the low capacity and I think that made a huge difference from our last trip on this ship when it was full. We are planning on bringing the kids back with us in a couple months to do a quick family getaway.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had an 11:30 check in time. We arrived around 11:20 and did not wait in any lines. Check in was super easy and from car to ship was about 15 minutes. Out of my 10 cruises it was by far the easiest check in process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at Hooked, Jamie’s Italian and MDR. All of our meals were excellent and very timely. Service was outstanding. The buffet was good, but not a huge fan of being served the food, but it’s understandable.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There are tons of activities onboard. We did not do any water activities as it was a little chilly. Mostly enjoyed laying around the pool deck relaxing.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The ice skating performance was fantastic. I feel like it was better than what we have seen before on this ship. The comedians were enjoyable.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service and staff were top notch. Servers remembered our names and what we liked. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were happy and we never had an empty drink.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We were on this ship 4 years ago before the modifications and it is much improved. It is an older ship but in very good condition.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We did a Royal Bid for an upgrade and were assigned an aft Junior Suite on Deck 6. The balcony is large, but doesn’t exactly look directly out over the ocean. This is my 1st time in an aft cabin and the side to side vibration caused me a little bit of sea sickness. The cabin was spacious and I enjoyed having the extra room.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We did self assist and walked off the ship with ease. There were no lines to get off the ship or at customs. They ask for you to wait in your staterooms until your group is called. This is such a better process than before.
