Review summary

Fantastic ship, Amazing entertainment. Shame there are too many passengers. Busy all the time. Embarkation a nightmare, Muster drill even worse. Not a good start to a cruise. Kids running riot all over the ship with no control from the parents.

Embarkation

Definitely needs improvement. Never before have we queued for an hour and a half outside, just to drop off our luggage. Very disappointing. Good job it wasn't raining.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Plenty of food and drink available. Unfortunately the buffet was like a cattle market all the time, and we had trouble with our main restaurant. We asked for a 6pm sitting on a table for 2, we got a 7.45pm sitting on a table for 8.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Great activities for all ages.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Amazing entertainment.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Some staff exceptionally helpful. Others lacked interest.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship, very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very clean. Staff a little too eager to clean the room. Thankfully over time we grew to like our attendant and he got used to our ways.

Ship tip

Be prepared for a very busy and loud experience. Mayhem, bedlam and anarchy don't cover how busy it is. The ship is supposed to cater for 6300 guests. Too many. You have to queue for everything. Wouldn't recommend if you want a little peace.

Disembarkation

Needs work. Not enough staff around. Did manage to get off quicker than we got on, so that's a bonus.

We traveled on virtuosa on the may half term and said never again during school holidays. Our April cruise was a complete different experience so we was glad we had booked again. But I agree with everything you have said. I think it is just the school holidays.

I really wish parents would start parenting their kids and not just assume that everyone enjoys watching them run riot and behaving horribly. It actually puts me off ships where I know there will be a lot of kids - and as for sailing in school holidays - forget it!!
