Review summary

The Spitsbergen was the highlight of my trip. I did the hike up a mountain and was rewarded with an awesome view. It’s challenging if you’re not in shape.

Enjoyed the main dining room most nights. Service and food were great. The buffets had great choices/ variety of food but it was often cold.

The thermal spa was well worth the money after a long excursion.

The staff was wonderful as always. It was very unusual that tipping in Europe was not the norm. Most cruisers were Italians and Germans. They usually never tip.

This was the perfect room. The views were stunning and it was very quiet. The room was always clean and everything was in working order.

Ship tip

Be prepared for all types of weather when traveling in Norway. It can be cold and rainy and 30 minutes later hat and dry. Always prepare dressing in layers.
