Review summary

First cruise post covid, was more than I could've expected. My next cruise is less than a month away and I can only hope it is half as good as this one.

Embarkation

Despite a 5 hour delay due to a jumper on the previous cruise, MSC did an amazing job notifying passengers of the delay and rerouting those who arrived before boarding to another terminal. Transportation by bus was provided and boxed lunches from Subway along with bottled water, facilities, and seating during the wait. Everyone was then bused back to terminal 10 for boarding. Once at terminal 10, it took approximately 20 minutes to go through security and checkin. We were on the ship by 2pm.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was exceptional! I am an extremely picky eater and I couldn't have starved on this ship if I tried. Food was everywhere! If you went hungry on this ship, it was your own fault. Great selection and asked on the first night if accommodations could be made for some other meals. It was "no problem, we will get that for you." Everything was delicious.

Entertainment

All of the performers including Santa Claus did a great job of keeping passengers entertained. Some great pianist and dj's onboard.

Service and Staff

I cannot put into words how exceptional this crew was. Those complaining about this particular cruise must have zero compassion. The crew was doing a full on search beginning at 5am the morning of our cruise for a woman who jumped from her balcony. The fact that they were able to continue doing their jobs and providing for 3800 passengers after an unusual and unexpected day, I cannot speak words. Kudos to every single one of them! Helpful in every area of the ship regardless of whether or not it was their job, they helped direct me to where to go or who to ask for if they couldn't provide the answer.

Ship Quality

Loved the interior and exterior. There were a couple of decks I found getting around difficult. I felt that despite being a larger ship (small in comparison to what's being built today), it kept the intimacy of cruising that I used to love. The "Freemont St. Experience" coming onboard was awesome. That entire area of shops and food was probably my favorite. I felt like I visited so many different places and environments in such a small area. I felt the ship was always spotless. I never saw food outside of cabins or empty cups etc laying around. They just seemed to disappear when someone placed something down.

Cabin / Stateroom

Interior YC. Perfect for getting ready and sleeping.

Ship tip

Small casino of you're a gambler. Come hungry, lots of food options.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Spotless. We went from our cabin (deck 14) to customs in less than 5 minutes doing walk off. I've literally been the first in line to disembark and waited hours, this one I waited until 8am to head down and zero issues. Customs process was a breeze, snap a picture and your off. Was able to make it to the airport and hop on a flight 3 hours earlier than originally scheduled.
