Overall a great cruise minus the dining room misses. Ocean Cay is great.

45 minutes from drop off to on the ship. Friendly and Efficient administration of secondary Covid tests for all passengers. Helps to have all your paperwork (health screens,etc) in order before you arrive.

Here is where MSC missed the mark. The main dining room food was the worst of the 8 cruises I have been on (5 Carnival. RC and Holland). One larger bottle of room temperature water (no ice) to share among 2 people. If you wanted another it was $6 (?). No steak or shrimp cocktail without an up charge. Lasagna was terrible (from an Italian line!). Lamb was almost inedible. MSC has it together in so many areas but the main dining room is lacking.

Room steward Emmanuel Tan (Philippines) was great. Dining room waiter or assistant did not ask or bother to learn our name throughout the cruise. Buffet staff was great. Very nice.

Super clean and well designed. The main lobby is great. Like a small mall.

Cabin / Stateroom

Beautiful, clean room. Super sized balcony (due to being on a corner) at the same price. Emmanuel Tan kept it spotless!

Ship tip

Make sure your credit card is linked. Check during the cruise to make sure.

Disembarkation

30 minutes from cabin to shuttle. There was confusion and hostility (with some) due to their credit cards not being linked and having to settle bills even though they had thought they had. This may be due to MSC’s terrible website. It is one of the worst websites I have ever tried to work with. I heard this from multiple persons.

Agree with everything in this review, buffet was far better experience than dining room - in fairness, it is challenging to find things at the grocery stores right now so I can’t imagine the challenges facing those trying to supply a cruise line. Hopefully post Covid & supply chain woes the quality will improve

Thanks for the review. I was on the Meraviglia in January and enjoyed it. Food is obviously subjective, but I found the food equivalent to or better than Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Holland America. I ordered a glass of water and iced tea each night with no additional charge. The website has an issue keeping the credit card data for some reason, but there are multiple kiosks onboard to easily register your credit card.
