I came in with low expectations about the food. They were right. Nothing special and in fact some meals you could not eat. Steak that was gray in color, asparagus so overcooked, scrambled eggs that were a substitute. We did do 2 nights in specialty restaurants. One night was in the Mexican food; it was alright. Chips were stale, old store bought kind.

Very very clean. Ship design had poor flow. Could not get from one end to the other without taking multiple elevators.

Cabin / Stateroom

Good room, bathroom small but set up well so it functioned fine. Nice balcony except that our room railing was mostly metal and only 25% glass. Storage lacking and bed super hard.

Ship tip

We paid $818 for 2 of us for a balcony room. You get what you pay for with MSC. Worth the low price we paid but wi not do a MSC cruise again

I am so on the fence about sailing with MSC. The ships are beautiful without a doubt, but my two biggest concerns are the food and the customer service (the company in general, not the crew). I've read horror stories on both issues. People either like the food or don't. The customer service stories I read about seem consistently bad, which is unacceptable to me. With so many choices out there, I'm not quite willing to take the plunge with MSC just yet.

We are going on our 4th MSC cruise on the 25th and look forward to it. The food is ok and we’ve been on about 20 cruises. The ships are beautiful and the crew very very nice! This is our first Meraviglia cruise and we have been on the Davina and the Seaside and look forward to this ship. There is not a perfect cruise out there and you get what you make it. I plan on making it a great cruise.

I think only having 652 passengers qualifies for making the cruise something special. Quality of food is always subjective. Others on this ship enjoyed the food so there is probably plenty of food that is good enough. Remember, if you don't like it, don't eat it, and ask for something else.
