Review summary

Wouldn't recommend, the staff was very nice, and the ship was beautiful.

Very long and tedious, but it was thorough. Our cabin was changed last minute after our bags were already tagged with the original cabin number. It took hours, lots of complaining, and explaining the same thing to about 5 people before we were able to get our luggage out of lost and found ourselves.

The food was terrible, not good quality, same thing everyday for lunch and breakfast. Not a huge selection compared to other cruise lines The drink package cost more than the tickets to sail. $69 a day, per person in the same cabin. Which meant if you're rooming with someone who doesn't drink alcohol, you both are required to purchase a drink package for about $414 total.

The set up was neat, there was a terrible smell coming out of the toilet the whole trip. Not once did we get the breakfast in bed that was included with our stateroom.

Stick with Norwegian or Carnival.

Been wanting to try MSC, so I've been reading reviews and watching YouTube videos. A common theme that keeps cropping up is the lack of variety and quality of the food. Some people found it okay but I haven't seen anyone raving about it. Another issue is the customer service, which seems to be hit or miss. For me, the jury is still out whether or not I plan to cruise with this line. If I do, I'll certainly be adding my experience on ShipMate.

Sorry you didn't enjoy it. One reason to do some thorough research before purchasing tickets. Also, most of the cruiselines require that all guest of legal drinking age in the same cabin to buy if 1 does.
