Review summary

On the maiden voyage too. Not much of entertainment compared to other cruise lines. Too many problems but that can be expected on the first voyage. We paid extra for a balcony (it was a huge corner balcony) but unfortunately we couldn't use it because there were no furniture. We did receive a $100 credit per cabin (should have been more). Also food was not as good as Disney or Carnival. No lobster or stone crabs! Entertainment staff was very stiff and rude to non-European. I wouldn't recommend this ship although I may consider taking another MSC cruise in the Caribbean. Not impressed with service but the ship was beautiful. Crazy cabin layout to accommodate more rooms per ship. Photographers were not good. All around poor experience. Sorry.

yes there is. When it s hot they open it. The pool in the back of deck 16 is a nice area

ice cream is included in the drink pacage. You just have to pay for the wonderful woffles with chocolate. the ice cream is free. Don t miss to try them. We didn t have any problems with smoke. And we were around the ships most of the time.

I'm glad your experience was great. You may also have been in the demographics that I mentioned above so it may have been ideal for you. The 70s party was indoor with no room for the large crowds. The seniors occupied all the seating. I forgot to mention in my thread that there were so many people in the ship that smelled of sweat and body odor no matter the time of day. Lots of smokers too.

I was also on the first sailing from Genova. I like the ship very much. The best place to be in the daytime is by the pool in the back of the ship. The food in the restaurant was very good. Butchers Cut is also a fantastic restaurant. The shows with dance and vocal was also very good. Read the daily program every day and you will see there is much to do. The bar on deck 18 has a fantastic view. The Galleria at night there a shows on the LED screen. Don t miss the 70 th and 80 th party late in the evening. Breakfast is best to have in the restaurant on deck 5

Yeah that's what I was hoping for. comedy shows and karaoke. quizzes the normal things.no doubt someone will see your post and have a different opinion and that's the beauty of this site everyone's experience is different. Thanks for yours much appreciated.

Lol! Don't get me wrong it is a beautiful ship but our sailing was catering to an older crowd. Honestly, there wasn't anything to do after 11:30pm. I'm used to the adult comedy shows or karaoke but they had neither. Good thing you bought the package, you will be able to set soda, alcohol, coffee, shelter/still bottled water, and ice cream by the outside buffet. (Ice cream is not free!) I hope I don't scare you but this was my experience. Hoping yours is much better! :)

we have purchased the drinks package by the sound of it we will be better sitting at the bar and get drunk. lolð·ð¸ð¹ðºð» and then everything will seem better.

I hope so. Also forgot to mention a few things: Cirque du Soleil and beverage package. Unless you want to spend your 7 days drinking tap water, the beverage package is a must. Juice is only served at the buffet for breakfast. After breakfast you have to purchase it at the bar or wait for a waitress to come around. Soda is not included either unlike the Disney cruise. Cirque du soleil: they only offered 2 shows that week and then cancel the rest of the days. The staff said that they were not prepared and needed more practice so they could offer anymore days. Very upsetting! Hopefully this has changed. Last but not least, when I got home and looked at my digital pictures that I paid for; there were my pictures and other people's picture in my card!!! Frustrating. I didn't even get all the pictures that I paid for. To clarify from my previous post, flamenco and opera was amazing!!!!

Thanks for the reply. we normally go with royal Caribbean or Norwegian. we are starting to think have we done the right thing. hopefully by the time we sail in November it will be better.thanks

The buffet was very big but each day was either really good or really bad but never consistent. Also, we ate at the pub and all the food was served cold even though it was fried. Perhaps because they may have taken long to bring out the food. I noticed that they shared a kitchen with the Sushi restaurant. The pub waitress seemed tired and had no customer service skills. We tried the sushi bar on another day and it was fabulous! The service was excellent! Nightly we had the late seating dinner and our server was always lost, late, and not very knowledgeable about what was on the night's menu. We even dared to ask her if she was new but it turned out that she had been with the company 3 years and had only 20 days left on her current contract. Kids daily menu didn't have a lot of variety. The shows were like the buffet; either really good or really bad. Flamenco shows and opera singing in English/Italian but then the magic show, puppet show, and shadow animal shows were horrible!!! Lots of smoking in the shadow animal show.

hi. going to be my first time on msc you said the food was not that good .was that in the restaurants or the buffet restaurant. you also mentioned the entertainment. I have tried to find out what are the shows on-board. are they in English or Italian. is there much entertainment on during the day.

Also, we took 8 kids on the cruise with us and they hated the camp. Not many activities. It also doesn't help that there is a teen dance club with a full bar (explain that one to me) right next to the baby/kids camp. In the evening it was yucky.
