Review summary

Although there wasn’t a lot of activity on board it was a relaxing cruise that I enjoyed. It didn’t seem crowded and I enjoyed the wide open spaces. I would book on board the Magnífica again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was quick and easy. We arrived during our window and was in the line less than 3 minutes. We walked directly on to the ship and to our room to drop off bags before exploring.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was very good! After hearing so many complaints and this being an older ship, I was concerned but it was unfounded concern.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I’m use to Carnival so in comparison the activities were scarce. I did enjoy the few they had but participation was low which impacted game play.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The performances were stellar. Great singers and awesome dancers. The solo musicians around the ship were melodic!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wow! The service was exemplary. Especially in the dining room. The attention to detail, the concern for your experience and making sure the food was enjoyable went over and beyond. I throughly enjoyed the dining room and ate there for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It’s a beautiful ship with an easy design. There is one issue with getting to the breakfast dining room that was easy the remember by the 2nd day. The ship is mostly bars (LoL). So so so many bars 😂. The ship was very clean. I saw no long standing cups, plates or trash lingering about. There was a very musky smell on the floor around the Áurea cabins. It was there when we arrived and lingered the entire cruise.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5

Ship tip

To get to the dining rooms use the mid ship elevators and walk to the aft. Not all elevators go to the top floor for the Áurea outdoor area. The aft elevators will take you to the 15th floor and you’ll have to walk up one flight of stairs.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
It seemed the disembarkation was going to be smooth as I waited until the last minute to leave. One of the officers came to give me directions to leave (LOL). When I went down to disembark the line was still long to leave. They then separated that line into four lines to scan the card but after scanning the lines merged back into one to cause one mother of a bottle neck getting off.
