Review summary

MSC fails to offer a vacation experience as memorable as their competitors (Carnival in my experience) . Although nice, pretty and clean, they lack many comforts others provide like great customer service. That is not to mention the missing towel animals, mints, fruit decorations or variety of top tier entertainment. Me and my Italian wife (the main reason we booked a European cruise line) had a bad experience with the first excursion and that soured our trip from the beginning. The staff did help us in this situation and failed to even notate our complaints for management (found that tidbit out at checkout). The food was good most times, great sometimes yet the seating could be horrific at the buffet and at the dining room dinners, they were constantly trying to sell you something (no custom omelettes or pizza and don't try to upsale me stuff by interrupting our conversation) . Getting on and off the boat for ports was not planned out well half the time and the other half was decent. The layout of the ship was convoluted with parts of decks closed off and elevators always busy. In a nutshell, MSC is aggressive about their money, even over the customer and was okay as cruise. It's hard to go to so many countries in such a short time and have some life experiences, therefore I will not use them again though I will go on another cruise.
