Review summary

4 night to Nassau and Ocean Cay for overnight. We did get to Nassau, I didn't get off the ship, I'm bored and irritated by Nassau. Didn't get to Ocean Cay, instead diverted to Dominican Republic with 3 sea days. The 2 extra sea days were due to Ian, and that's fine, I had no where to be. Disappointed about Ocean Cay, weather is weather though. I was happy with the journey we had. Friday approaching Florida got quite rocky, to be expected. I was traveling solo and met up with many other solo travelers, so, don't be afraid to travel solo. I probably won't sail on MSC Divina again, but only because I prefer the Seaview class. ONE BIG NEGATIVE On Thursday, when the cruise was supposed to end, they sent out a letter stating that everyone can get on the internet for 24 hours to rearrange travel plans. And that's great. However, it did NOT state that your internet package is no longer continuing.... And that's fine too. I went to the desk around 2AM to ask why my internet wasn't working and that I needed to contact airline.. Instead of educating me that that package isn't working because it's no longer valid... I was immediately told "Sir, you were told before this cruise that you could rebook on another..." I wasn't complaining, I was just asking for clarification mind you. My answer was "I can also not book on this cruise line again" and walked away. Very unprofessional answer to a very simple question. I will be booking again, however, I agree with another review before.. Train staff correctly. Otherwise the desk was always a pleasure during the day. Funny thing is, the drink package did continue for the whole voyage.. Confusing. Please do not go on MSC expecting RC or Carnival, they are different experiences. And I do prefer MSC.

Embarkation

I was off the shuttle and on the boat in like 15 minutes. Be aware, this particular sailing, many people cancelled ahead of time due to possible itinerary diversion with Ian happening, so this may not be the norm.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The buffet was excellent and always stocked with tons of options. And I did prefer the food in the buffet over the MDR. I ate dinner 3 times in MDR and 3 times in buffet. MDR, the food was not flavorful enough for myself. Others around seem to enjoy it. I can tell you that the NY Strip etc was not an upcharge, at least on this cruise. The buffet has an arrangement of hot sauces etc, which I appreciated. 2 THINGS.... Yes, there is free soft-serve ice cream... However, it's from noon to like 3pm between the Aqua Park and the covered solarium pool. They set up a kiosk. I didn't find the Pizza to be all that great like others have said. The variety was nice, but, half the time it wasn't cooked all the way.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I mostly drank and roamed around honestly

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I pretty much kept to the smaller venues with bands that played all sorts. My favorite was the Pink Floyd band. They were awesome. I did the AbbA show which was fun, the crew show was FANTASTIC and I attended a Magic Workshop as well. The belly flop contest and the adult scavenger hunt were quite entertaining...

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Definitely a most gracious staff! Even with all the curb balls, both guest wise and nature wise. I don't have my room made up on ships, and my steward was understanding. 1 Note. The man who works the desk at night isn't the most pleasant to deal with... Very short in his conversation and rude.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
A bit confusing at first. Having been on the Seashore before, I was expecting a slightly confusing layout, so this was expected. The elevators are small and slow. The cabin was perfect size, and I appreciated the overhang on deck 13 to protect me from to much sun.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Similar in size to any other regular balcony cabin. Shower doors took a few days to understand. There is only 2 outlets. TV is really small. I'd sail in it again.

Ship tip

Go with an open attitude. Always enjoy life as it comes instead of trying to curate every experience. You'll have more fun in this life.
