Disappointing as my husband got covid on the ship and was confined to our cabin for four days. The medical bill for this was $1458, for one visit to the doctors, tablets, test and an injection which all took less than 45 minutes.
Embarkation

We were on a back to back booked separately. Though we had to change cabins.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Red Ginger was exceptional for us. Jacques was very pretentious and a little disappointing
Polo Grill was as you would expect surf and turf to be. Toscana was good and we enjoyed that too.
The Grand Dining Room was a little hit and miss. Serving staff Olga, Susan, Luka were all excellent. Sadly the breakfast service was incredibly slow and i mean SLOW!
Onboard Activities

Looked ok but we did not take part, not our scene.
Service and Staff

Excellent service in cabin/suite. We found the reception desk staff brusque and not very efficient or pleasant, quite dismissive in fact.

The Marina is going in for a refit and the suites and cabins do need it!
They are kept beautifully clean but are rather tired!

Edwin and his team looked after us but once covid struck my partner we kept the do not disturb sign up and managed on our own.
Ship tip
Do not get Covid, my partner did and it cost us $1500 for a consultation and medication. He was also confined to his cabin, not great.
To get into town you have to walk under a covered walkway jam packed with folk trying to sell you everything you don’t need! It was a relief to make the sidewalk outside the terminal.
Trying to get back in when it was the same route for four ships in port trying to embark passengers had to be experienced to be believed. Dissappointing.
Ok to get off and have a look around. Lots of shops selling the same sort of things.
Watch your steps as with all destinations on this cruise the pavements/sidewalks are potholed or non-existent!
Hi Radiationman, here in the UK you can’t get those sort of drugs over the counter and take them with you. You need a doctors prescription and you only get those when you are. So not so easy for us Brits 😉
You should be able to keep the same room (if you book early enough) on the back-to-back. I have four back-to-backs coming up on the carnival valor in September 2023 and I will be in the same cabin for all four back-to-back.
