All in all a very enjoyable cruise however not sure I would use Marella again, whereas previous cruises felt like 4* breaks Marella feels 3* at best

Enjoyment of this 2 week cruise was sadly spoiled during the first week by my having an accident caused by lack of attention to passenger safety.

The usual very good TUI crew. We enjoyed ourselves but we didn’t think it was as good as our trip to other Caribbean islands on Explorer in January 2019.

Just back from our first Marella Cruise. We sailed on the Discovery 2 on their Cosmopolitan Classics cruise around the Mediterranean. We were incredibly lucky to have fabulous weather for 90% if the journey with just one abandoned port of Villefranche. We did sail through 63 mile per hour gusts that night leading to the most uncomfortable cruise experience I’ve ever had! Regarding the cruise. It goes without saying the staff were truly fabulous and did everything they could to make the experience a good one. I couldn’t fault their professionalism and courtesy. A real credit to Marella! There were, however, some aspects of the cruise that caused frustration. As an older ship, there seemed to be a shortage of space in the evenings and our party of 6 struggled to find seats bar/entertainment areas. In fact, my cabin neighbour told me they ate in the buffet to give themselves enough time to find a seat in the lounge areas. We dined in the main dining room and the complementary Italian restaurant Gallery 47. I felt, again, this was something Marella needed to work on: the menu was relatively limited in comparison to other cruise lines we’ve travelled with and was clearly aimed at the British clientele - again, nothing to complain about, just nothing to shout about either. The buffet and snack areas were in line with previous cruise experiences and were sufficient for a quick bite when needed. We were very pleased with our junior suite accommodation and had more space than with any other cruise line. This was a real bonus and the toiletries were a nice touch. The swimming pools (one indoor and one outdoor) were adequate although not heated so ruled out one of my favourite cruise activities. The deck areas were spacious but again, free seating was an issue and I do wish guests didn’t reserve sun beds with towels and sit on chairs with feet on another! Overall, our experience was a good one. I did miss the international feel of other cruise lines and wouldn’t necessarily choose Marella in the future, but just for that reason.

We were a group of 4 couples who have cruised together before. On first sight the MD2 looked out of place in Palma port next to the giant super cruises ships in the docks. Any, Oh dear me thoughts that I may have had dissapeared as soon as we got on board. The crew were super polite, super efficiant and it was so nice to see so many different nationalities represented. The whole trip was very relaxed, the food was 5 star and the drinks package was well worth the investment. I would not hesitate to book another cruise aboard the MD2

Good cruise overall, I would sail with Thomson again however I prefer Costa.

The holiday went very quick which is an indication that we enjoyed it. Certain things on the ship disappointed such as trips cancelled and destinations changed but sometimes it cant be helped. Captain Chris seemed nice but he was young and a bit too over familiar with his staff in my opinion and this sometimes led to poor standards such as men in the resturants at lunch with no shirts on and sweating all over the food and nobody challenging them. Waiting on someone coming to take your drinks order in bars such as Venue was also an issue, we waited half hour one night and never did get served so left. Queues at the bar were too big to get your own drinks. So in summary, service and standards a bit poor but an enjoyable holiday all the same but I don't think we will go with tui again for a while.

TUI staff were excellent , we watched 2 shows and they were brilliant

For our first cruise it was over all excellent cruise felt photographers very pushy which put us off buying any - also if there are rules such as no children in certain areas between certain times this should be monitored such as Glasshouse and Gym apart from that had a fab time and would cruise again

Really enjoyable cruise and itinery. Only observations made compared to our last sail on this ship in Jul 18 are: 1. Tui starting to make subtle adjustments to the drinks package. 2. Totally ignoring their current set of dress codes. Perhaps trying to attract the football/soccer tops, flip flop wearing and same t shirt on every day cohort!

Absolutely loved sailing on Marella Discovery 2. Staff were very friendly. Loved eating in gallery 47, the Italian above the main dining room. Fabulous food, fabulous people, fabulous cruise

We had the most enjoyable holiday. The full tui experience was faultless as always. All crew on the ship were very pleasant and aimed to make your holiday just perfect. We are already looking at next years cruise.

Very good cruise the ship was good and the service provided was good food was very good in the MDR and the Islands self service we also went to the Glass house we did not visit and of the other restaurants as the food in MDR was good

First cruise with Marella & it exceeded our expectations. Went with my 16 year old daughter. I did lots of research before going, mainly on Facebook groups & got some great tips. Will definitely come back for a different itinerary

Cruise was fantastic as always with Marella, flights out and back were a nightmare.

This was the third cruise we have taken, but the first with Marella, and what a lovely surprise we had, I’d been reading the reviews of Discovery 2 on fb and had mixed feelings about the ship, but I needn’t have worried had a fabulous 14 days cruise, the fist week was not fabulous weather, in fact, we had only 3 days of sun and choppy seas for a day, but the entertainment on board and the lovely people we made friends with kept us busy and took our mind off the awful weather. The second week was great too and the weather soon picked up, will we sail with Marella again? You bet we will.

Great ship great staff will go back for sure . Overall 4-1/2 out of 5 *. Thanks Marella Discovery 2. Wonderful vacation look forward to new adventures on board .

Did the Exotic Explorer cruise on Discovery 2. First cruise for me. Something for everyone if you want it. Enjoyed all the port stops. Cabin cleaned every day and bed turned down every night. Very polite and friendly cabin porters. Drinks waiters were mainly friendly but felt management kept their personalities a bit suppressed. Food and waiters could not be faulted. I especially loved Gallery 47 Italian.

It was our 1st cruise and it was wonderful and would definitely go again!

Had a very enjoyable time would think about an other cruise with your company again.
