Review summary

Have patience and take time to try things on your own. Form your own opinions! Overall wonderful time and will definitely sail again

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easy! We chose a later arrival time (12-12:30) since we were staying at a hotel right by port. We slept in and enjoyed a non-rushed morning. We got to the port around 12:10. We dropped off luggage, went through check-in and onboard (with muster completed) by 12:45

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We never ate in MDR for dinner. We chose all the specialty restaurants- enjoyed all of them! Our fave is always the steakhouse (I love the French onion soup!!). We did do breakfast 1 port day in MDR (it was ok) and 1 sea day for brunch (we weren’t a fan). But there are so many options for breakfast that we never felt without. Lido buffet is small for size of ship but always plenty of choices. Guys burger didn’t disappoint (had twice). We were pleasantly surprise with Chibang. We always heard negative reviews from people so we thought we would try for ourselves. We enjoyed and even went back a second time. Our server was fantastic that we requested her a second night (shout out to Anggri- request her, she’s amazing!)

Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse

Always a wonderful experience. From start to finish, service is top notch and food was fantastic. The Caesar salad was different this time, but in a positive way. Was more flavorful! Filet was very tender. My husband had lobster both times and was very pleased

Fortune Teller Bar

5 out of 5

This is my favorite bar on the ship. The bartenders were amazing and attentive! The Venus Rising is my favorite drink!! It’s a must have!!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
So many activities to choose from! We saw 1 show (it was pretty good), enjoyed most of the activities. Plenty to choose from- so always something going on. We saw a comedy show (best one we’ve seen so far!!). We also did 2 cooking classes. First time we’ve done them. We initially just had the pit master class booked but after the experience we booked Emerils favorites! Tip though- book when booking cruise- they can sell out quick!!we did enjoy one of the pools on deck 8 (behind Hero’s Lounge/ Guys Pig and Anchor) on one of our port days. Water was a little cool but it was relaxing!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Always something going on. We saw 1 show (normally see more). Family Feud- always entertaining! Enjoyed a comedy show.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had a wonderful room steward (Natan). Our room was always cool (we like that). Our balcony was enjoyable- had 1 lounge chair and 2 patio chairs with a small table). It was a nice little escape when we just wanted to enjoy views in peace. Servers were good in the speciality restaurants. Seemed to be a little short staffed in Italian restaurant- but they definitely hustled! Our favorite waitress was Anggri in Chibang. We went back a second time and requested her specifically. She just made the experience that much better!!!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
This was our second time on, so we were familiar with the layout. We don’t care for the main stage layout (3 levels) and if you are on deck 7, it’s also a walk through area so your view is impacted- plus casino noise competes with performances (choose deck 6 - best view; or deck 8- looking down on performers but no one walks in front of you). Shop was clean from what we noticed. Often out of hand sanitizer (we brought our own), but they did have handwashing stations. Elevators seem smaller than other ships and were often crowded if you used the ones in mid. Our room was located in the aft so we always used those and often had elevator to ourselves!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I feel like it was a little smaller compared to some other cabins we have been in, but it met our needs. Bed was a little too firm for me (forgot you could request a pad- keeping that in mind for future). Room stayed cold (which we love). Make sure to bring an old card for lights (we forgot but used one of our credit cards). More than enough storage for us. Balcony was a nice size too!

Ship tip

Make sure to bring an old credit card, gift card etc to use in the cabin for your lights (it’s what keeps them on). Use the aft (or forward) elevators- less crowded (often had them to ourselves). Indoor activities and dining are on deck 6,7,8. Outdoor activities on 16,17,18. Guys burger is on 17 (rest of food Shaq, buffet etc on 16). If you can- GET a passport. The line for birth certificates when debarking is extremely long. If you’re unable- make sure you allot for that when planning your flight. Also same goes for rideshare when leaving. The pickup line is often very long- so have patience with your driver.

Ports of call

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

While it rained most of the time while we were in port, we had an amazing time. Only time the rain truly impacted us was as we were heading back to port (got drenched from walking in port and back to ship). We hired a driver/tour group (Justin Island Tours)- not through ship. He drove us around to see the sites. This was our second time using him and will always recommend him. We toured island, saw some sites and stopped for lunch!!

Cozumel, Mexico

We have enjoyed this port. We went to Nachi Cocum (not booked through Carnival). $20 cab ride (1-4people) each way. Relaxing and quiet.

Port Canaveral, Florida

Judging this as the embarkation. Super easy! From arrival to onboard (including muster)- 35 mins I believe.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy! We woke and were out of our room before 8:30. We went to breakfast to chill and relax (we chose the latest debark time since we had a later flight). When our section was called we walked right off and grabbed luggage. Maybe took 5 minutes. We have passports so we breezed through customs. There aren’t any signs on where to go if you are looking for a ride share- it’s at the end of the drop off location, just past elevators (FYI). There is a long time for those coming into terminal for pick-ups, so be mindful of that for your Uber/Lyft drivers.
