Review summary

Overall we enjoyed the Mardi Gras and would consider sailing on her again. We really enjoyed the non-smoking area of the casino being so large and having so many gaming options. The shows were top notch and the food options were good.

The food in the MDR (dinner) was mediocre. But with all of the other options, we only ate dinner in the MDR two nights. We enjoyed the specialty dinners in the steakhouse and the Teppanyaki restaurant. We also had dinner in the sushi restaurant a couple of evenings. MDR breakfast was great. Lunch from Blue Iguana, Guys Burgers or Shaq's Chicken were very good as well. We actually had Guy's Burgers for dinner one evening.

Onboard Activities

We didn't really do anything with the activity areas but there were plenty of options I did enjoy one of the Carnival Kitchen classes.

Entertainment

We loved the shows! Center Stage is great in concept but if you're seated on decks 7 or 8, you're going to have a hard time seeing anything that's in front of the stage as the performers move around a lot and sometimes are several feet in front of the stage.

All of the staff were friendly and attentive.

The ship's areas are spread out. You'll get your steps in but it never really seemed overly crowded.

Since we drove to the port (we live 3 hours away), we intentionally chose a later disembarkation number and it went very smooth.

I sailed on Oct 21 as well. I had a great time. The atmosphere was great. I want to book with Mardi Gras again. 🛳️

Carnival Mardi Gras

Beautiful ship! The food was great, we never had a bad meal. We ate in MDR every night. We did chi band for lunch and it was amazing. We did La Cucino for lunch and that was great also. Considering there were 6,000 people on board, it wasn’t bad.
