Overall- great time! We had a blast and would do it again!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Fairly easy process- just seemed to be a lot of people. We chose a later boarding time due to husbands anxiety and this way we could get on and go straight to room to drop bags. Overall process was fairly easy. Took maybe 30 mins from start to finish (and on board)
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I gave 4 stars only because the specialty restaurants saved the day. We only ended up eating in main dining room twice- food was just not good. Very bland, hardly warm. We loved La Cucina, steakhouse and Rudy Seagrill (we were comped this from the casino). We did buffet 2x (while in port and ship was less crowded). Had Big Chicken and Guys burger (both good). Beignets ($5) were great! Of course- the pizza was good too!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We were in the Havana area so it never felt crowded at all. Pool was nice, small but ok. I never used the other pools. Always plenty of lounge chairs. Plus- had our own bar! We didn’t go to many shows as the lines seemed to be long often. The Center Stage had an awkward setup, and sometimes it was hard to hear due to competing noise in background. If you say on deck 7 to see show, you could be interrupted by people walking through casino. I did see a couple shows there and they were good.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
There was ALWAYS something going on. I spent a lot of time relaxing and reading so didn’t partake in tons, but I feel like there was something for anyone!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We had the BEST steward! And our servers in the specialty restaurants were amazing! Main dining staff were very personable too, however they seemed so overwhelmed. Likely understaffed but they were hustling!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The design was ok. Center Stage was an awkward set up, so it could be hard to manage. Casino entrance was on deck 7, so I felt bad for people sitting on 7 trying to watch a show. We were in the Havana area and often stayed there. Never felt crowded
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We were in Havana area (8202). We knew the view wasn’t the best (it was an upgrade that was minimal $). The crew smoking area was just below us. I personally never smelled smoke but others (in comments and reviews) mentioned that they did. I would definitely stay in Havana area again, but definitely get a different cabin number to be able to see water from our balcony.
This was easy! Definitely if you can- get your passport. We have ours (have had for a while)- noticed the BC line was so long. We breezed through and was off ship (luggage in hand) in about 20 mins (if that). We also chose a later number since we were staying an extra day visiting friends.
