Had fun on the Mardi Gras, but no such thing as a bad cruise. If I return to Carnival as a platinum member, it will probably be on a Dream class ship.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Seams Carnival has cut back on everything just like the rest of the world! Pay more to get less. Nothing to crazy, but very noticeable to a seasoned cruiser with platinum status. Mediocre food quality, less staff fuzzing over you. No linens / tablecloths just takes away the class. Especially in the main dining room.
Was nice to have the option for ChaBang and
Italian Restaurants without additional cost.
The buffets was as expected. Street eats was fun.
Onboard Activities

Road the Bolt coaster, it had a little hick up and stop mid ride. They asked if we wanted to stay on and due another run while they check things. So we continued on as test dummies and went around a total of 4 times! It was great fun and we even got our money refunded.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The shows went from good to bad to worse!
The venues were all over the place and never held enough guests. Punchliner was offered in 3 diff locations, you never know where, when and who you getting.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Not enough staff for the amount of guests on this huge ship.
Hate that they did away with 2 turndowns a day and the breakfast hangers for early room service.
Quality and lack of service and all dining and bar areas was very noticeable!
Ship Quality

This new class of mega ship is not to my liking. I think it’s just to much and Carnival has not figured out how to staff and maintain it properly.
The bathrooms throughout the ship were horribly maintained and the confusion on how to open, close and lock the doors was insane.
Elevators weren’t as bad as I’ve read in other reviews, but had some issues.
Cabin / Stateroom

Smaller, but laid out ok, and still works. Glass shower door is a plus! Much easier to exit to balcony
Carnival did a nice job on their own stop in Dominican Republic. The pool area and the lagoon are very nice, however with 2 ships in port and one of them with over 6000 guests, it’s a bit crowded by the pool.
They have some nice pool cabanas and hill cabanas that sell out the day after the ship sells cabins. Book early if interested!
No excursion booked, everything is at least an hour drive thru a foreign Country.
Had a great time, this is always a beautiful stop. Excursion available right at the port.
Grand Turk is known for best snorkeling. We did a catamaran with snorkel and private beach stop. The waters are beautiful blue and the beach was awesome, or maybe it was the rum punch! Lol….. great time!
I agree with the public restrooms. Nice thought to add touch free openers but confusing and in some cases poorly executed. The doors would open while people were in the restroom or you couldn’t figure out how to close the door.
I'm booked on it next February 2024 ,was on it February 2022 one week isn't enough time to see it all . I'm excited and nervous at same time . Looking forward to i turn Platinum in Nov. . Thank you for your review we were not impressed with some of food . But we enjoyed the cruise.
Appreciate your detailed and informative review. Your feedback just confirms my hesitation to sail on this class of ship. Glad you still managed to enjoy your cruise.
