Overall, not a bad experience considering I don’t particular care for Carnival ships. I view Carnival as the “economy class cruising”.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Priority boarding was quick and painless
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Quality and variety of food was limited. Exceptions were, Cucina Del Capitano and Guy’s Burger’s, Pizzeria Del Capitano.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Roller coaster Bolt was fun, but not worth the price. Fitness center is very impressive to satisfy anyone who is accustomed to typical gym membership. Pool deck is large enough for many but, lounge chairs are at a premium. One has to claim them early morning or your out of luck.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Center stage shows were excellent. 3D effects were phenomenal. The magician needs to be replaced. Havana Bar musicians made you want to dance. Marci Gras Theater shows and entertainment was mediocre at best. Casino is one of the largest at sea and one will have a good time win or lose $$$.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Stewards very friendly and cordial, ship personnel overall friendly and accommodating.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship is large and well planned out. You do get your walking exercise, like it or not.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Very comfortable, clean and enjoyed having the extra space.
Ship tip
Familiarize yourself with the layout of the ship. Expect certain elements of guess to not have cruise etiquette in different venues. Arrive early for Center Stage shows for best seats, remember, there are almost 6k guests.
Despite Puerto Rico having gone through an hurricane days prior to docking, the San Juan tour was excellent! Very informative, Educational, and the guide was excellent. Will be coming back to PR when the Island recovers. There’s much to explore.
I believe it could’ve been orchestrated better. However, due to Hurricane Ian, several other ships were thrown off their schedule, causing havoc at the port with seven ships docking at same time. I believe if it weren’t for the hurricane, I’m sure it would’ve been fine.
