Had a wonderful time on the Mardi Gras. It was nice to be on a new ship. We loved all the food and entertainment choices, but wish the venues were larger. We were sailing under max capacity and sometimes missed shows be abuse there was no place to sit - especially for the comedians later shows and shows in Grand Central.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
So quick on 12/4/21. We were onboard in under 20 mins.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Lots of yummy food choices. Loved the fries and seasoned sauce at Big Chicken. Husband loved his meal at the Italian Restaurant. The gelato at the lunch buffet was so creamy and yummy! Street Eats food options were mostly meat so vegetarians were left out. The main dining room is beautiful and our waiter Ali was excellent! I loved getting the Indian vegetarian!
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
So many onboard activities to choose from - morning, noon and night. We love hanging out on the Serenity deck though during the day and then at night we like to enjoy the shows, comedians and piano bar. Fitness center was clean and nice - ran on the treadmill a couple of mornings.
Although a short ride with a fee, Bolt was a lot of fun if you like coasters.
We had a spa room on deck 17. There a private elevator that took us down to deck 5 directly to the spa room. The thalassotherapy pool was small without the nice jets like others have. We enjoyed the steam rooms and salt rock room.
Mardi Gras Casino
4 out of 5
Many game choices and loved that part of the casino was smoke free.
Serenity Adult-Only area
5 out of 5
Lots of chairs, a nice pool, a bar and on sea days there is a nice salad bar to grab your lunch from.
The Fun Shops
2 out of 5
Small shops with not much merch to buy.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Most of the shows and entertainers exceeded what we’ve seen on other ships.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The layout of the ship kept if from feeling too large.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin was nice and included a couch unlike some other spa interior rooms. Smaller rooms on this ship - we’d often bump into the end of the bed trying to get to the other side of the room. Bathroom is much smaller than other shops and the toilet paper is placed too far back.
Ship tip
Enjoy the varied entertainment and food on the ship. Try bolt!
I was on the same same cruise and agreed with you. I never went to comedy because it was always full. Loved walking in dining and just sitting. Table was always ready. I must say the crew was especially nice. Always smiling.
Thanks so much for the review. Going in February on this cruise, first time at a different port,, we always cruise carnival out of Galveston,, can’t wait!!!
