Would recommend a back to back if you are able to on this ship. There’s so much to do a week is not enough. Overall beautiful ship, we wish we would have had the your time dining. We love our wait staff but felt early dining cut into activity time. I think with your time dining we would have been able to do more and see more of the ship.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We had 3 in our party in wheelchairs so it went very quickly as we did not really have to wait in line. They checked our paperwork thoroughly, took our pictures and we were on the ship rapidly. It was great!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food in the MDR was “ok” I enjoyed the food at other Carnival ships better. Portions seem smaller, some of the food came lukewarm at best, we missed the featured meals especially on port days, overall just ok. Cuccina was our favorite, everything we ordered there was perfect. Shaqs chicken is just delicious! Java blue was so good when you needed non bitter ship Coffee highly recommend. Bonsai sushi was yummy, street eats was great some days but eh on on others. Pizza is still perfect 24 hrs a day.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
You will never be bored! Our favorite pool is on Deck 8 right outside of Pig & Anchor. Everyone that went on BOLT loved it just wished the ride lasted longer for the price.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Music was great, especially enjoyed Havana bar and the violin players. The musicians were all great. The entertainment as far as Broadway style shows definitely better on other carnival ships.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was great, we had one problem at pig & anchor where we were seated by the band and forgotten about. We waited almost an hour with no one even offering us a drink. We walked out but we were stopped by the hostess and asked how we liked the food. We were honest, she apologized, had us sit at a table close to her and personally served us to make things “right”. It wasn’t her fault I think it was just an oversight and it was busy but was very nice of her to do.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everything was perfectly clean and smiles from all Crew members while they were doing so. No complaints! As far as design, as someone that travels with a daughter that sometimes needs mobility aids, I highly recommend a scooter over a wheelchair because the carpeted areas are hard to navigate.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin felt a tad smaller but we are convinced it’s because the couch that opens into a bed is on the opposite side from where it usually is placed. It is closer to the balcony versus right where you come in so it feels as if there is less “floor” space and feels more crowded. We loved the location being close to the bridge it was very cool to see us pulling into port because we could watch them from our balcony. We loved the newer bathroom and not having the curtains. There is plenty of storage space even for 3 of us in the cabin and having a wheelchair in our room. All of the cabins have a fridge which is convenient. We also love the color and decor of the cabin.
Ship tip
Chibang is overrated, take a back to back if you want to be able to see and do everything on the ship. A week is not enough!
Rented golf carts from mahahual golf cart (red shirts). They were very nice, held our wheelchairs until we got back and even had beer waiting for us. It was a cheap excursion as the golf cart was $70 for 6 of us. We were given a map with locations to get free drinks. Our favorite spot was Krazy Lobster. We had drinks and food and had a good time but it got old that every 2 minutes someone was coming to your table on the beach or approaching your golf cart to try and sell you something.
Disembarkation was not as smooth as embarkation. Our porter was rushing us and with the wheelchairs etc it was a mad house. We left a bag behind, contacted the port and carnival and have yet to hear back from anyone. This is the second time this has happened to us at this port.
