Very weird. ---Since other cruisers tipped you off, it might have been weather elsewhere that put another ship in Nassau and there were no more berths. In that case size would matter because the port in Nassau will take the higher port fee which is per person. Just like the airlines, weather delays do not have to be local. - [Really just guessing because I'm curious about that as well]

our itenary was Key West, Cocay, Nassau and back to port, we did Key West, CocoCay and then after spending the day at their private island (CoCoCay) they tell us we are headed back to Key West due to the weather, we check Nassau's weather when we get back to Key West, it was 78 and beautiful, I heard more seasoned cruisers say it was due the size of our ship bc the Mariner of the Seas was at CoCoCay when we were there and the went onto Nassua. Do size does matter...lol
