Review summary

Old ship that needs a renovation but it's very clean and has an old school charm. Please fix the arcade

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Other than parking far away, Easiest of all my experiences

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
No complaints, food was too notch, drinks fine but getting very pricey

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We had bad weather but the kids didn't care, they were obsessed with splash away bay.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The only official show we saw was the ice show which it was good but way better on Independence 10 years ago.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
My kid loved adventure ocean but the arcade was abysmal. Games are old, outdated. A third were out of order before we got there and another third were on but no working properly, waste of money and very disappointing for the kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every crew member we came in contact with was amazing

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It's an old ship that is overdue for a renovation but it's well maintained and very clean other than the arcade and the tv in our room was oddly old and dusty like it was just replaced right before we got there with an old tv that was sitting in a warehouse

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
No complaints other than old dusty tv

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

5 out of 5
Getting in is easy but parking is rough, $120 to park a mile away from the ship

Halifax, Nova Scotia

4 out of 5
It's very nice but doesn't feel like the people need you or care if you are there like even you do to the Caribbean

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quickest I have ever gotten off the ship

The Arcade is sad. Needs lots of attention. We like the ship though. Back on her in 27 days.

Thanks for the even-handed review. Just to note at Cape Liberty during the late spring through early fall months when is more than 1 ship homeporting there between Royal and Celebrity, the adjacent tower parking garage is reserved for only those with handicap tags and place cards. The overflow lots used do have a shuttle to save you from walking, but it is still better to drop off any passengers with all the carry-ons when you do your checked luggage and have only the driver go to the overflow lot later meeting their family/group on the processing line to enter the terminal.
