Fantastic cruise with friends! Liberty is a great ship and the crew were amazing. Despite the chilly, wet weather, everything was fun. I loved visiting Halifax and will return.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Cape Liberty is easy! I was on the ship 10 minutes after I arrived. Haley, our check in agent, was awesome.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate in the main dining room every night and every meal was excellent. We sometimes went to the buffet for lunch and breakfast, and it was consistently above average. Breakfast in the main dining room was good, too. We didn't eat at specialty restaurants this time around.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
I used the fitness center and and I participated in the morning stretch on deck, and I took the Zumba class. It was fun. We participated in the trivia games, bingo and other things.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Surprisingly good entertainment. Saturday Night Fever was very good, In the Air was spectacular, and the ventriloquist was good. I didn't want to go see that but I was talked into it and I'm glad I went.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our waiter and assistant waiter, Edwin & Jason, were wonderful. My room steward, Raymond was kind, considerate and a true joy. The guys at Cafe Promenade were so much fun!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The layout & design are great, the ship was clean but it's getting old. You have to insert the key into the door instead of tapping, there were a lot of worn spots on furniture and carpeting, and in my room there was a burn mark on the nightstand. Not enough outlets for charging, none near the bed so you can't have your phone charging next to the bed. Can't plug in a CPAP without an extension cord.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Nice sized promenade cabin. It had two love seats and the bed. The cabin was clean but there were chips missing from the porcelain in the sink and a burn mark on the night stand. They need to update the rooms.
Ship tip
I love this ship. Explore all of it! I was on it first in 2014 and I'm glad I went again.
no excursion, I live here. ;) You can get to NYC very quickly, see the Statue of Liberty from Liberty State Park in Jersey City, get to Newark Airport, etc.
I loved Halifax! This time we did the Hop On/Hop Off bus tour. We toured the Victorian Gardens, the Halifax Central Library, the Citadel and the Fairview Lawn Cemetery. Then we walked the waterfront, shopping for souvenirs. The Museum of Immigration is great, too.
Thanks for sharing your cruise experience. You had a nice itinerary. We will be cruising on Liberty for the second time this summer and looking forward to another great cruise.
