Review summary

We had an absolute blast. This was an adults cruise for our group to celebrate an anniversary and several birthdays. The dining room staff made that so much fun. I tried escargot for the first time. If you like stuffed mushrooms, you'll love them. They were delicious! My husband and I spent several quiet mornings watching the sunrise over the ocean. I think it's deck 4 that has seating and in the wee hours of the morning is super calm and quiet. Lovely for decompressing from life. The shows were incredible. You almost forgot you were on a ship when you were in the theater. The food was good, but variety was a bit lacking. Overall it was a wonderful cruise.

Super easy even for our group of 9.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
While the food was delicious, there seemed to be a lot of mismatched choices, at least on the buffet. Selection was similar every night. Another cruise line a few years ago had more variety an more cohesive selection.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There were lots of things to do, but it seemed there wasn't much before noon or after 10pm most days.

Entertainment

The ice show was great! Saturday Night Fever was awesome! Sadly the sea was too rough for "In the Air." Instead they threw together a musical review which was great. The also added a 3D viewing of The Incredibles II. That was a unique experience watching a movie in 3D on a rocking cruise ship. LOL The Quest was absolutely hilarious! We laughed so hard!

Service and Staff

Our room steward, Carlington, was incredible. Everything we asked for was promptly taken care of...not that we are very needy anyway, but we didn't want for anything. The first night we met him, he noticed we shared a last name. He joked that he was our long lost son. :)

Ship Quality

Beautiful ship. She was showing her age, but still beautiful.

Cabin / Stateroom

Totally met the needs of my husband and I, though we didn't spend much time in the cabin.

Ship tip

Take time to enjoy every minute. Catch a sunrise at sea. Catch a sunset at sea. They are absolutely beautiful and so peaceful!

Ports of call

Falmouth, Jamaica

My husband and I have left a piece of our hearts in Jamaica. It is such a beautiful place. It is poor in terms of financial stability for the citizens, but despite circumstances, everyone is so laid back. It really is "no problem, mon." We met a sweet carpenter on the road who had "sandals" made from the soles of tennis shoes and scraps of fabric. He had sewn his pants many times over. It was obvious in U.S. terms he was very poor, but he was one of the most joyful men we had ever met. The pace of Jamaica is so much slower than American culture. We absolutely loved the vibe, the culture, the food, the relaxed atmosphere. So peaceful.

George Town, Grand Cayman

My dad LOVES to visit Stingray City anytime he is in Grand Cayman. We took an excursion through Royal Caribbean. While it was nice, it was WAY overbooked. The catamaran was so crowded it was hard to really enjoy the slow sailing back to the island from Stingray City. We did have fun despite the crowded conditions. I just wouldn't do this particular one again. Too many people.

Super easy. A little bit of a line, but not bad at all.

One Love Welcome to Falmouth, Jamaica Sun setting with Liberty tendered at Grand Cayman Stingray At Stingray City Rain on the island Playing with fire Way too many people on this catamaran. This isn't even half the people on this particular excursion. We had 3 busses from the port to the catamaran that all got on the same boat. :(
