It could have been an unannounced health inspection, it could have been a delay in finishing boarding passengers or loading supplies, it could have been that the port had a delay and didn't allow the ship to depart when scheduled. The ship can't leave until it's their turn in port, and something ahead of your ship might have gotten a late start. Could have been anything, but two hours doesn't sound like a big deal. No one on the site is going to have the definitive answer.

You just got your vacation started and are already whining because the ship was standing Still ? Oh my goodness, what is the cruising industry coming to allowing you to be so underserved, and you not seeing water pass by you for an ungodly 2 whole hours. If I were you, I would ask for heartfelt apology from the Captain and a full 2 hour refund off your cruise fare.
