Review summary

Easy and fast check in.  Food was good - not great.  Entertainment ok for free, not great.  Cruise Director is boring and has no personality.  Wait staff, room steward, everyone on the ship that I came in contact with was friendly and very accommodating.  Our cabin 6686 on the aft port side was just below the hot tub.  We had a constant flow of dripping water on our balcony rail.  As women, this was a problem.  Other than that the room was great.  Our air conditioning worked very well. Our refrigerator also worked well and that is usually not the case.

There is a constant barrage of selling and costly add ons everywhere you go on the ship.  There is less and less to do that doesn't have a cost applied.

I understand that they are in the business to make money but it is overkill.

Here is why I gave such a low rating.  I love cruising, I have 6 more cruises booked on RCCL.  I have taken 21 cruises on RCCL, however if I have another experience during disembarkation I will no longer be able to cruise with them.  I am handicap, and walk with a cane, I have a handicap sticker.  My disability is not always visible.  I can not walk long distances, stand for any length of time or go down stairs.  The first person I came in contact with when I left the ship was very kind and let me use the elevator.  Usually I am pulled out of line to sit while my cabin mate goes through the lines and I join them when they are near customs or they let us both go directly to customs.  When I asked for assistance I was told no, I needed to have a wheel chair to qualify.  I was told this by 3 women, they all confirmed that they do not follow ADA requirements unless you have a wheel chair.  One lady gave me her name, she said it was Joan but she did not have her name badge. I did not have the other's names but I do have a witness. Fortunately I was able to recover quickly and only had mild pain for the next two days.  They may be right and I'm wrong but I don't think so.  I was not able to find any information in my cruise contract or my documents that require you to have a wheel chair to qualify for ADA assistance.

Onboard Activities

The game room was well stocked with cards and games. There's a lot to do for the young crowd but for seniors everything comes with a price tag.

Entertainment

Just ok. One great comedian one just so so. Ice show was good, Grease was more like a lame high school musical.

Service and Staff

Everyone was great, always smiling and very helpful and accommodating.

Cabin / Stateroom

Everything was clean and in excellent working condition. The only problem was the constant dripping of water on our balcony rail.

Ship tip

Don't sweat the small stuff. Just relax and enjoy!

Contact Royal Caribbean. It's not true. Our friend had 12 hr. Surgery & lots of fusions in his back...walked slow, can't turn his head...and they helped him because he can't do steps well...can't look down.
