Review summary

Once the horror of boarding was over it was great. A fabulous ship with so many dining and entertainment options. We did a 7 day staycation cruise towards Spanish waters via the Channel Islands. Captain Camby was great fun as usual although Covid protocol meant we didn’t see him around ship as you normally would. Not bored for one minute. We used the cinema to fill in any gaps on the schedule seeing 3 bang up to date films. Entertainment 1st class. Headliners, speakers, bands, comedians, vocalist etc. Food amazing although missing the every day basic options in the MDR. No Ariel performance due to injury which was a shame. We followed the sun so good weather and calm seas.

Embarkation

Long long ques. Uncomfortable and unpleasant. Too little space in the terminal to properly carry this out at this location. We arrived by minibus direct from Penguin Parking.

Ship experiences

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Fantastic. Very varied with venues to suit every taste. Pulse (party band) are fantastic.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Spectacular. Very clean, bright and airy.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We liked the layout of bed nearer to the balcony and sofa by the wardrobe. Lots of cabins appear to have this the other way around making the wardrobe difficult to access due to the bed.

Ship tip

Log on to the ‘app’ as soon as possible and book your entertainment. Details are in your cabin. We were among the later boarders and still easily managed to book everything we wanted and more within minutes. Don’t leave it, you snooze you loose.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Self disembarked. This was delayed by a fire alarm in the terminal (not P&O’s fault). Otherwise pretty seamless.
