Icon of the Seas

Royal Caribbean Icon of the Seas Inaugural

Sail date: January 20, 2024

Ship: Icon of the Seas

Traveled as: Family (young children)

Reviewed: 8 months ago

Review summary

This ship has the best flow of people than any other ship sailing. The intelligent elevators make sure that an elevator doesn’t show up and you can’t get on. The openness of the ship is wonderful. As usual for the cruise industry, the staff is amazing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Definitely a step up for Royal Caribbean - especially in the Windjammer. Royal Caribbean is not known for their food - but on the Icon of the Seas, they definitely have reached higher.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The best water slides at sea. These slides compete with land based water slides. The fitness center is wonderful.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Royal Caribbean has the best entertainment at sea or on land. And, the Icon of the Seas reaffirmed this. Don’t miss the Wizard of Oz - although it is a tad too long.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
The children’s club was wonderful. Traveled with two 8 year old girls and they were very comfortable in the club.

Ship tip

Children must be 48 inches tall to enjoy the water slides on the ship and at Coco Cay. Also, if you are not staying in a suite, bring your own bath products. They combine everything (body wash and shampoo) in one dispenser. There is nothing else provided in the cabin and they stock it with only one bar of soap for the sink.
