Review summary

This is a nice ship, the staff is great but they're overworked. There are not enough of them unfortunately. My only real complaint is Royal runs the same menu cruise after cruise. It's getting old 😞 Sailing over Halloween was fun. They had a few activities a some minor decoration. They set up a flash mob to "thriller" (did 3 practices throughout the week and then preformed the last night) it was throughly enjoyed by so many.

Embarkation

Quick and easy. Not much wait with the key.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Most of the food is lacking. Little to no flavor and we had multiple proteins that weren't cooked properly including a piece of chicken that was undercooked (all from the MDR). We did have a few good meals and can't go wrong with any of the desserts. We had a few lunches at the Windjammer that were decent.

Sorrentos

Pizza didn't taste as good as it did on Oasis in June but still good!

Chops Grille

We had lunch here after a horrible experience at the "key" lunch. It was so good and the service was amazing.

Onboard Activities

With over 6000 guests they need more activities available. I guess that would require more staff though. Bring some cards or games to keep you entertained when there's nothing else going on or nothing that you can get into. 😉

Entertainment

Ice show 1887 was great. Aqua show was ok but it really didn't make any sense. I don't know if we missed a story line or if there really isn't one. Comedy was good. I wish I could remember the main guys name. Really funny! Grease was ok...some of the performers were a bit stiff.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our wait staff for dinner in the MDR were amazing. We had some meals we didn't care for or that weren't cooked properly and they were always super happy to help get us something else. Service in chops was also great. Our room steward was very nice and kept us stocked up on ice and towels. There are some great bartenders around this ship right now also.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship design is nice. We really like the Oasis class ships. I'm pretty sure due to staffing issues, the balconies weren't super clean...the public restrooms were not cleaned as often as they usually are but they were never too bad that they couldn't be used.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Pretty spacious...bed at the balcony which we really like as it seems to make the room easier to navigate. I did notice a mild musty smell in the shower on the first day so I just opened the door to air it out and never smelled it again.

Ship tip

Be patient with the staff. They work long hours with a smile on their faces! Oh and take the stairs to try to ward off extra pounds haha
