It’s a cruise. I’m lucky to be a tiny part of the world who gets to do this. The criticism is really just in comparison to other cruise ships and cruise lines. It was still an amazing seven days that I didn’t want to end.
Embarkation

Port Canaveral does an efficient job. Fastest we’ve embarked on a cruise.

Food and Dining

A very mixed bag which is usual for Royal. We had the ultimate dining package. We’ll never do it again not because of service or quality. It was just too much food! We’re more grazers and snackers when it comes to dining.
I was actually impressed with the food quality in the Cafe Promenade. Very limited offerings but they were all tasty. I think that’s the problem sometimes with food on cruise ships now. So much variety and choice ruins the quality. The specialty restaurants were all typical and of the same standard as all RC ships. Not worth it to me. Can’t comment on the MDR or Windjammer as we never ate there.

Promenade Shops

One star because I collect the little ornament shop models from every ship and they sold out on the first day within the first couple of hours!

Central Park
2 out of 5
Pretty much ruined from what it was and what I thought is supposed to be. I loved Central Park previously for the peace and quiet. Well, that’s gone. There’s so much NOISE from the pool deck that you can’t escape. We even booked a Central Park balcony imagining the peaceful time we would have enjoying the bird and peeper sounds. Never used the balcony once. The blasting, thumping pool deck band came through loud and clear through the closed balcony door.
AquaTheater

Wonderful show as usual. Only Spectras Cabaret on Quantum class is a better show.
Service and Staff

Everyone was smiling and helpful all over the ship. One of Royals best crews I think.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship was full so more kudos to the great crew for doing their best to keep up with it.
This was our fourth Oasis class sailing and probably our last. It really is a bummer for me to not be able to see the ocean. Yes, we booked it fully knowing what we were getting. But Harmony was the loudest cruise we’d ever been on. The constant battle of the music in the venue you’d be sitting in with the music playing everywhere else. Everywhere noise and no place to escape it unless you are in a suite or a diamond level.
Cabin / Stateroom

I would have rated the cabin five stars if it had been anything but a Central Park balcony. My review of Central Park covers my disappointment. Otherwise, a great cabin. Very clean. I hated the rock hard bed but my husband loved it. Our great cabin attendant did remake it with extra comforters under the bottom sheet to give me more cushioning.
Ship tip
Don’t sail on this ship if you want to enjoy sea views and peace and quiet. Otherwise it was great.
We took the water taxi and had a nice time at the Dutch Blonde bar and restaurant. The constant pestering by the locals was exhausting but not unexpected. They’re still trying to recover from the hurricane.
We where on the Harmony in May. Had an ocean veiw balcony and was able to enjoy the ocean and veiws. I agree the central park rooms can be loud when the band is playing at the pool. Thank you for your review.
