Maybe would be better to give advance notice of any changes to the itinerary, expected shows or procedures on excursions

I'm sure it's a challenge for the cruiselines to produce a consistent experience for their guests given the very fluid Covid environment we're all having to navigate. Glad you managed to enjoy your cruise in spite of the last minute changes.
