Review summary

The food and service was really good in both the Windjammer and the dining room. It is true there's not much to eat if you're hungry late in the evening except for Sorento's pizza or snacks in the Promenade cafe. They have room service that I believe has a charge if you order between midnight and 5a. There's no place to even get iced tea at night. The Allure had it in the Promenade but not this ship. I guess they are pushing everyone to buy the soda package. I was looking forward to trying the Abyss. The mats you sit in are supposed to slow you down. It wasn't the case the day I went down. You have to slip your feet in the mat and lean back as you go. I went down so fast it was hard to even pick my head up at all. I ended up hitting my head on the slide as I was coming down, thought I had a concussion. When I got to the bottom I never slowed down or stopped as your supposed to. Instead i ended up flying off the slide at the bottom and injuring my tailbone as I slid really hard off the slide onto the boardwalk. There was a worker at the bottom of the slide but he did nothing to try & stop me. It was actually terrifying. I could not believe what had happened. Two kids came down after me and the same thing happened to them. They shut the slide down right away for the rest of the day. I asked how could it be this unsafe. How could they not have a bumper of some sort at the end to stop you. I was told they have never seen this happen before and had no idea why it happened. This happened on Tuesday of our 7 day cruise. The rest of the week I had trouble sitting in the shows or doing anything because I was in extreme pain. It's was a week yesterday since it happened and I am still in a lot of pain. They didn't really seem to care on the ship I guess because you have to sign the waivers before you get on board. My concern is if this were to happen again someone could really get hurt even worse. I had tried it once before and the slide was slow when the mats worked properly but how can anyone know when this will happen again if they have no idea what caused it so nothing is done to stop it from happening again. I was also disappointed there is no longer an adult pool in the Solarium. It didn't even taste like there was any alcohol in the rum punch at the Crown and Anchor top tier event. They increased the cost of the specialty restaurants. As much as I like the big ships I won't be going on the Harmony anymore. I prefer the Oasis and the Allure. On the Harmony you pay more for less. This was our 18th cruise and we were a little disappointed overall.
