Review summary

We cruised as a family (two teen kids, my wife and I) on the May 30, 2019 out of Baltimore to Bermuda, Nassau and CocoCay. We enjoyed all three ports of call, with ample time to explore. CocoCay is a-must-see paradise! The ship crew were very nice, except for the Cruise Director who was rarely seen and had a very bossy attitude. Compared to our previous cruises, the Grandeur was the smallest and oldest ship, but it was kept very clean by the crew. Because of the ship’s age, rust was all around the ship, and most visible on the promenade, but crew were seen always painting to fight the rust. The buffet area was too small and very crowded such that it was always difficult to find seating. The food was generally nice, with a good variety, especially for lunch and dinner, but not so much for breakfast. Bars were never crowded, and so service was quick. Onboard activities were limited, especially for kids, and our teen kids were bored to death during sea days. We had an ocean view cabin. Compared to our previous cruises, this cabin was small, but we quickly realized that if we kept the twin beds separate, the room appeared bigger and easier to get around. The stateroom attendant kept our cabin very clean every day. The bathroom was small and more so the shower, but usable. Embarkation and disembarkation were swift, but on port days, it took considerably long before guests could be let out after the ship had docked. Overall it was a very nice vacation with a wonderful itinerary.
