Review summary

We always enjoy sailing on Royal Caribbean ships and Grandeur of the Seas met our expectations. This is the first time that we had been in a Grand Suite (and it had two bedrooms); we were upgraded from a Junior Suite two weeks before the cruise. I snore; so having a separate room to sleep in was a real bonus. In my room, which was just inside the stateroom entry, there are two drop down bunks in the ceiling. That room can sleep four people. This is why the stateroom is often referred to as a "Family Suite" Between the entry and the room I slept in is a large, spacious closet with a lot of storage; this is where the lifejackets are stored. Across from the room and closet is a standard bathroom. Along the hallway from the entry is the usual desk with mirror and two standard electrical outlets. The hallway empties into the main sitting area of the stateroom. It has a couch and three chairs. The access to the balcony is from this space. One can watch TV in the sitting area and not disturb those sleeping in the first room. To the right of the sitting area are the main sleeping area and main bathroom. This bedroom has its own desk with mirror and the bathroom has a tub with shower. They no longer put tissues in the bathrooms, we asked the attendant and he put a box on both desks (they were inside drawers at the desks). We had breakfast in the Chops Grille and enjoyed the quietness and the service. Also, we up to the Concierge Lounge every evening. It is also a quiet place to sit and relax. Bermuda was windy most of the time we were there, but it was comfortable enough to wear shorts and short sleeved shirts. On the first afternoon, we took the five hour minibus tour around the island which was enjoyable. The driver was very informative about Bermuda; because his normal job is as a bus driver, he kept telling us which bus to take to get to various spots of interest. The next day we shopped in the Dockyard area. There is a tram that will take you around the Dockyard. After shopping, we ate lunch at the Frog and Onion Grille. We highly recommend this pub. We now have plans for when we next come back to Bermuda next year. Disembarkation from the ship was worth the price of admission (cost of the stateroom). We waited in the Concierge Lounge, taken down to the 1st deck, off the ship and priority through Customs. We were off the ship and waiting for our transportation by 8:30 am. We very fortunate to get the 2-bedroom Grand Suite, but would do it again!

Love having a grand suite. You should try oasis class in a grand suite. On those ships you have your own dining room for breakfast lunch and dinner.
