Review summary

15 day Grand Princess from San Francisco to Hawaii. This was my and my mom's 1st Princess cruise. We have been on Carnival multiple times. Embarkation and Disembarkation is so organized, smooth, and fast. The food is better quality and tasting than Carnival. Activities and entertainment is boring. Yes there are lots of activities shown in the Patter everyday but most are the same schedule every day. Ex: Zumba, trivia, Effy store raffle/unveiling, Mah Jong group, Bridge group, knitters and crafters group, movie, etc.) Also, boring lectures (yes, lectures, like you're back in school, he doesn't even try to make it fun), about 4 days of theater shows (2×day but we couldn't see most because there weren't enough seats). The Princess Theater smelled heavily of urine. Alot of staff were not friendly at all, only friendly ones were the wait staff. I always love the Effy store but they are so high pressure and insult you or make you feel bad for not buying their jewelry. In another boutique, the sales lady even grabbed my purse behind me and told me to buy one of her purses. Who does that?! Go on Carnival for a better time.

I'm a 45 year traveler on Princess ships...what's with these people that need to be enertained every moment while exposing their hostility. Makes me wonder about Americans. Gripe on a vacation to die for... get rwsl, people...

I'm with CBC! We've never experienced anything like the review in our 20 Princess cruises. Just remember all critiques are one persons opinion!

Princess cruises tend to be a little laid back, possibly because of the demographic they tend to attract. I believe they do a very good job though. Personally I don’t shop while cruising or in port, holds no attraction for me, so I haven’t experienced those kind of issues.

We were on same cruise and agree lectures were yawners. Odor in Princess theater was that of new upholstery after dry dock in March, NOT urine. Arriving a bit early always assured us of good seats for shows & aside from a couple of less-than-bubbly Horizon Court breakfast workers, everyone else on staff was cheerful, polite, and seemed eager to be helpful.
