Review summary

For a "last" minute decision to take a cruise for our Anniversary, we thoroughly enjoyed our time aboard the Golden Princess. The price was excellent for a balcony stateroom.  Only dislike was it was too short for us!  Next time we book will be for a longer cruise!  The staff overall was mostly professional, our "traditional" dinner in the Canaletto Room was tasty every night as well as our breakfast in the same room!

I recommend purchasing the "Cafe Selects Coffee Card" if you enjoy specialty coffees like Lattes and Frappuccinos, made to order & to your liking for less than $2 per drink for a 20oz size drink.

The weather wasn't the greatest (traveled early Dec 2014) so wasn't able to enjoy the amenities outside but did take part in the games, movies, theater, and the music & ambiance in the Piazza Room as well as just plain relaxing on my balcony or in one of the lounges playing Phase 10!

The Golden Princess is a very nice size ship and has many balcony staterooms, more than other ships that sail out of the Los Angeles port. Going into Ensenada was not a highlight for us (been there a few times in the past) but the voyage going & leaving there makes up for it!

Didn't eat in the buffet, was usually too crowded for me, but did have the "traditional dining" and ate in the Cafe in the Piazza Room which we loved!

Great room for a great price. We were upgraded to a "better" balcony room and didn't understand the difference until it rained one night and our balcony did not get wet on the 11th deck - the 9th & 10th decks did get wet because of no overhang above them.
