Agree with other comments about... by bluemoontets

Sail date: /
Ship: Explorer of the Seas

Agree with other comments about ship needing a refurbishment. Several windows in the windjammer were fogged over. There were several handrails missing on deck 12 with yellow danger tape put in place. Although food was very repetitive found it hot most of the time.. Ice show was excellent, apart from the take that and East coast boys found the entertainment very poor.

Good Mediterranean cruise by susanlumsden

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Good cruise. My one criticism would be lack of interaction from cruise director, usually you here from her/him from the moment you get on. Lack of announcements about what activities were taking place on on board.

Good Times. by Ellesbell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Ship was a good size and easy to navigate with lots of interesting art on the staircases. Showing it's age slightly now but soon to be going for it's makeover I hear. Staff were fab. Food very good but slow service in the dining room which was never overly busy. We had table for 2 which usually entailed a wait if you hadn't booked.

Sad to farewell this ship as it won't return to our shores !!! by arapet

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

The farewell cruise to this particular ship was sad, as we enjoy Explorer of the Seas, but it won't return to our shores. The weather was not the best mainly in Airlie beach and Cairns, because of it rendering was cancelled. But we enjoyed staying onboard.

Just finished the Sydney to... by karencruiser

Sail date: /
Ship: Explorer of the Seas

Just finished the Sydney to Singapore leg of the repositioning cruise.. well what an adventure.. Firstly, my cabin. 1860.. up on level 12... these cabins have been a cause of much discussion due to RCI supplying one photo to cover the vast majority of the cabins up there.. suffice to say, that has changed, and caused some of the cabins ( without balconies) to be reclassified as SUITES! Anyhow.. I was immensely happy with my cabin.. it’s the same long type of cabin that makes up most of the cabin configurations on the ship.. but ours was VERY SPACIOUS at 191 sq ft.. I traveled with my husband and 6 of my girlfriends.. we had two cabins up on 12 and the others had two balcony cabins on level 6 and 8. .. our cabin was vastly more modern and much bigger with a view to die for... floor to ceiling windows with a view unobstructed by balcony rails. And being next door to the Spa ( free jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms) and gym...and a step down to the windjammer and bar was a true advantage.. So to the cruise.. despite the itinerary, we only stopped at Brisbane and then two days at Darwin.. we missed Yorkies knob and Airlie, due to the weather.. many people were disappointed, especially the OS guests.. but quite frankly, if I was so keen to see the Great Barrier Reef, I wouldn’t bee relying on a cruise to get me there. 50/50 chance of ever getting off.. I had two excursions booked but they were promptly refunded by the individual companies..AND THEY WERE NOT RCI EXCURSIONS so I was really impressed.. So RCI. Made every effort to make the days enjoyable and full on the seas days...and as someone who generally doesn’t do shipboard activities, I thoroughly enjoyed them and loved all the crew, who were the most cheerful of people.. Food... if I don’t cook it, clean up etc, I’m happy.. Food in MDR , was really great.. Windjammer, plenty there and great too.. Did the chefs dinner...DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!,,,, Also did the gallery tour and lunch 👍👍👍👍👍 and the wines around the world tour.. really enjoyed that too.. so a great trip all round.. Two medical airlifts , which I believe the people involved are OK.. fascinating to watch.. I have great videos from my window... One day the ship LISTED heavily to one side for over a minute..I was in the Jacuzzi.. very strange to have all the water to one side and not coming back.. heavy breakages in the windjammers, spa treatment rooms and bars.. We had apparently been hit by an unexpected wind squall , that pushed us over.. Delay at Darwin for a while, due to another medical problem.. Other than that, all was fantastic... I would do it all again

Room for improvement by sjc6725

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Whilst any cruise is good the Explorer is a little tired. The majority of the entertainment crew appeared disinterested. They have a big screen on the pool deck but mostly play skateboard crashes etc on it day after day. It seemed that the cruise director did not cater for the age demographic but just went through the motions

Our first cruising adventure by Cindersailor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: South Pacific

As a first cruise, this was everything we could wish for. We were a part of a group of 55 women scrapbooking in the conference room; the trip was arranged by Mel Kenedy from Unmistakeable Creations. We had plenty of time to scrapbook, sight see and use the ships facilities. We would not hesitate to recommend Royal Caribean or Unmistakeable Creations.

Just got off Explorer of the seas on a South Pacific cruise and can only say it was a wonderful experience, even though we had to skip Noumea because of the cyclone it still was great.
