Ship was nice but getting old but still good. Enterntainment was awesome. Too many kids.

This was our first cruise and the ship more than meet our expectations. The amount of things to do on board was impressive. We had a handicap accessible cabin so a few things were different than the standard cabin but, it wasn't an issue.

I've been on the Explorer of the Seas now several times and it never disappoints.

will deal directly with cruise line next time. i feel BJ's didn't do their best for me and my family.

Second cruise on this ship. Like the ship a lot. However, the interior is beginning to show its wear and tear. Time to replace some carpeting, chairs, etc.

For people looking for savings I'd strongly advice going for a oceanview stateroom.

The food was fantastic, the crew were friendly. The mixed drinks were done right every time. The number of activities was impressive. The show on the Ice rink was very good. I had a four year old who paticipated in the Ocean Adventure most nights, he loved it. We got the family cabin in the front of the ship, it moved more than we wanted but the room size and the view from the two large windows more than made up for it. The only real downside was the company of the other guests some of them were rude, but that is to be expected when a cruise leaves from NY/NJ.

Would recommend this ship as long as there was no maintenance going on. Was very disappointed when we complained to guest relations and nothing was done.

The ship and the crew were wonderful.

We thought the ship was visually stunning with its glass elevators, "floating" stairs, and amazing promonade

The Explorer of the Seas is a wonderful ship. It has plenty to offer. We were amazed by its size and there were plenty of activities for all. The cruise staff were excellent! The Cruise Director and Activities Director were entertaining and hilarious. We especially loved hanging out at the Schooner Bar with the Piano Man "Roxy" . This boy can play and is very personable and knew all the songs. Kept the crowd going at all times. One last thing, we chose My Timing Dining. The wait staff (Waiter and Assistant Waiter) were great, personable and alway willing to go the extra to make sure we had a great time.

Ship is starting to show wear - seats in some bars are freying - it did seem very crowded also this time. The staff was outstanding - everyone was very helpful and pleasant - our waiter and assistant waiter were absolutely wonderful. I would definitely take this ship again.

the ship was not really kids friendly the kids pool was very cold I feel we should have been told that there was going to be a lot of older people they were very very very rude I was not happy neither was my family I paid a lot of money to be confined to 1 area because I have kids the older people made lots of comments and use foul language in front of the kids I do not recommend the ship for family with young kids

The only reason for not giving this a 5 star rating was that there was not enough port time especially in San Juan, P.R. (5 hours). We would especially liked to have seen the rain forest in P.R. but the four hour excursion would have taken up most all of the time. The eight hours we had in Bermuda and St. Maarten were inadequate to see much once securing transportation and traveling. We understand that the times set for each visit were due to the large distance we covered on this cruise (3,300 miles) and the time frame needed to complete it. One port that we visited on this trip for the first time was Labadee, Haiti. That was not necessarily a port we were looking forward to; however, it was a real treat. We were with friends that had traveled there before and they have made many improvements there in the past six years since they last visited. The only complaint about this stop, and we heard this from many who went ashore and I imagine many who have visited before, was the local vendors practically harassing you into buying their wares. On a return visit we wouldn't even go near that area which I think is a shame for their income. Overall, we loved the trip and we got one of the things we especially wanted on this cruise was more "sea time" (four days). The crew of this ship was exceptional and the shows and other entertainment top notch.
