The ship is large enough so you didn't feel boxed in but small enough to get around with ease.

ship was clean all the crew members were great

8th cruise, first on RCCL, previously on Carnival and Celebrity. For the price this was a very good trip. Good variety of food at both the breakfast and lunch buffets. Dinner was also very good as they were launching a new menu with several of the executive chefs on board. Very clean and modern common areas. No pressure to buy alcohol from the deck staff. Good shows, especially the ice show. A couple of draw backs: Staterooms are very tired, but clean. No "extra" ammenities in the room upon arrival, pre-ordered "gifts" were late. Windjammer was often very busy with limited seating. No easy to get to open air seats to dine outside. Will go RCCL again.

Amazing time. Lots of fun, good food, wonderful crew.

State rooms need up grades for sure...rest of ship, beautiful

had a great time, went for my 60th birthday staff was friendly and aimed only to please took my sister niece and myself and my husband.

The ship was wonderful there was a lot of room for everything we brought with us in the staterooms. The shows were outstanding. Our Wait staff was the best on the ship; we could not have asked for a better wait staff for the 5:30 my time dining. Antonio and Johncey were the best. Loved my spa treatment. The royal promenade was so lovely. The night party at the pool was ok. They need to space the shows out better because the party times crossed so you miss over half of the second party. This is twice I have been on Royal Caribbean and gone to the night poolside party and both ships ran out of chicken wings within a half hour of the party so not everyone in line gets to try them. They need to have more of what people really like and stop wasting so much on the fruit displays no one was eating. The specials at the stores were great. Picked up lots of gifts. Even the slot machines were paying out. We have very bad weather only one day of sun and that was the first day on the island. We had 10 to 12 foot waves; they shut the outside decks down because it was too dangerous. Other then the weather and the wedding package that was provided which was really, really bad. The ship overall was great.

The ship was built around 2000 and needs to modernize

Rudeness of the staff on the dock in Bayonne. (I wouldn't want that job, but people are on vacation and it's a service industry). The ship was nice, the golf and the skating were cool, but the shows and the food were way below expectation. The food and entertainment are better on the Princess Cruise line.

After having taken several cruises this was by far the best! The food, entertainment and service were exceptional. Wouldn't even consider a different cruiseline! Way to go Royal Caribbean!

The ship overall was excellent.

The staff, the amenities and the ship itself all met or exceeded my expectations. There was never a time where I was lacking for something to do, as the variety of choices covered any experience you could expect. From sports to entertainment to just plain relaxing, it was all available at whatever level you would want.

Not too big older ship

We had a wonderful time. There was something to do everyday or just sit by the pool and relax. The dining room experience was very nice and our waiter was exceptional. He was very polite and friendly. The Cruise director was the best, he stopped at nothing to make everyone have a great time. The ship was clean and the shops were nice. The serivice in the Portofino restaurant was excellent and the food was great.

i think the ship needs to go in for overhaul

This was the second time that we sailed on the Explorer of the Seas and it was even better then the first time. The ship you can see a bit of wear and tear but what do you expect after more then 10 years. All the service was just above and beyond. You feel like you are really special. Royal Caribbean treats all their guest the best. The shows are just \"Great\" everything was wonderful. Food was wonderful. Best food ever!

This was mine and my husbands honeymoon and we had a great time! the entertainment was awesome and so were the staff on board everyone went over and beyond to make our stay perfect!

Although the quality of the buffets has gone down in recent years, the ship was well maintained and the staff could not of been better.

Overall the amenties on the ship were good. I was on this ship in 2003 when it was new and now you can see it it starting to show its age. it could use a face lift. the staff, food and entertainment were all spectacular.
