Review summary

First cruise since the beginning of covid. Many Things have changed, Feel Royal is more concerned about the new ships and younger cruisers than with the people that have cruised with them for many years. My wife and I enjoy cruising and hope Royal starts to realize they are driving their older cruisers that have been with them for years feel left out with all the new changes for younger families.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food in main dining room was good, not exceptional but good. Choices are limited and missed items that used to be there. Chops was grest and food was excellent. Johnny Rockets was horrible. Went in middle of afternoon, they were not busy. ended up walking out without being served after waiting 10 minutes for someone to take our order, I heard they are removing this venue from newer ships, and they should carry it on and remove from all their ships.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Not the same as the bigger ships, and some was a great disappointment.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room steward was fantastic, but do not like the once a day visit. Waiters in Main Dining room, were a dissappointment. First night they forget st serve my salad and actually gave to gentleman sitting at next table. He was shocked he received a salad he did not order but grateful. This happened multiple times during cruise.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
For an older ship it is in decent shape, but you can tell Royal is putting more emphasis on newer ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin and balcony were very comfortable and out Steward Freddy was fantastic and took great care of us.

It's like old people. We get out of shape. Things don't work as well.We are forgotten and then die.

I agree with you but still love Royal ⚓️

Change is difficult for so many people. Things never seem to stay the same. However, it sounds like you had a pretty good short cruise.

Thanks for sharing your cruise experience. Royal has hinted that they are in the conceptual planning stages for building some smaller ships. Hopefully that comes to fruition. There are smaller ships that are going into dry dock for work in the next year or two that were cancelled when the cruise industry shut down due to Covid.
