We took our daughter and husband for their first cruise...needless to say they were impressed. With us it was my 43....have plenty of comparisons. Ship was clean, weather perfect and the two main issues were not understanding the cruise director who spoke WAY TOO FAST. Also, there was no available audio for announcements in our cabin despite turning up the volume. It would be OK to skip the corny "wash your hands" in the Windjammer. Thankfully we are always entertaining a new cruise venture and RCL is not a bad choice.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
timed perfectly, little waiting
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
buffet seating was tough, sanitizing efforts are good (now get passengers to comply!) Bar service was good. Food selections were best in main dining
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
best pools sans kids always the solarium but problem continue with "reserving" lounges. Needs to be some monitoring. Passengers are the worst!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Very good entertainment and theater has great seating and views. Ice skating was super for the enclosed space for performances
Children's Programs
Seriously....no kids...dumb question
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Good attitudes as well. Choose to pay our own gratuities which we do generously to the room steward and wait staffs
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
While an older ship and wish for better elevator service, the areas are well cleaned. This ship is bound for Cadiz for refurb whortly.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
ample space for the week, decent storage. wish they wouldn't use cheap shampoos so we bring our own. Ship refurb will take care of things needed.
Ship tip
Decent itinerary, still a good ship despite it's age. Would certainly travel on her again
Been here several times...don't find much interesting anymore and since the locals have now placed most touristy shops nearby, we didn't even shop much..too cheap.
Always find this port interesting with something new to discover. the new piers are nice...would love to see some local transport available to those with difficulty walking far.
Glad you enjoyed it. I believe they quit making non-emergency announcements in the cabins since some people complained that they were trying to sleep or it bothered them.
From what I've figured out. Audio announcements are only broadcasted in the cabins only if it is important like a safety issue. If it is just a general accouncement ie activities, then they broadcast the announcement in the hallways and public areas, but not in the cabin.
