Review summary

Overall it is clear the cruise industry has missed us. It should continue to get better with each sailing and the further away from COVID we get.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The luggage porters were very verbally aggressive saying to everyone that handed over luggage "this is where you show your appreciation" and indicated that your bag may not make it if you did not tip them.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The buffet offered the same foods for breakfast and lunch every single day. The choices were not as diverse as I have found them to be pre-covid. The dining room food was good and diverse, but didn't seem to be up to the same standard of quality pre-covid.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Some of the old favorites returned but were so crowded it made them less enjoyable. They did offer many, many trivia games with lots of different topics. The Love and Marriage show was pushed to 10:45pm which many did not attend because of the lateness which was a disappointment.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The comedian, the magician (Bill Cook) and the ice show were SPECTACULAR!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Bar service was quick and on point. Cabin steward was very attentive. Our dining room waiter, Noor, table 518, was super attentive especially for our 1 year old grandson. He made sure our grandson had a fruit compote every night waiting for him as an appetizer.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
She's gotten a little old but she's still very beautiful. It was very clean, especially the common bathroom areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It seemed like it was bigger than I remember but I think RC eliminated the small table in front of the loveseat and that made a big difference. Our bed was very comfortable and the pillows were super large.

Ship tip

People will reserve pool chairs with towels by 7am. Be prepared to either not have a seat where you want to be, or ask a RC worker to clear some seats for you since reserving seats is frowned upon yet people still do it.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

Willemstad, Curacao

Many in our party and as we later learned many that were on the ship, were openly discriminated against at Mambo beach. Two of the restaurants refused to serve food or offered a limited food menu. One in our group was approached by a drug dealer asking if they "needed anything" despite being with 9 other people, two of which were children. The taxi driver from the port to the beach overcharged us (charged $10 per person but on the return charged $5 per person)

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Walked off with our luggage. Highly recommend, you get the first taxis and don't have to set out your luggage the night before.
