Need to step up on food selection, quality, and presentation

Sail Date: May 03, 2014

Cabin: GTY

Cruise met or exceeded expectations in terms of service, accommodations, entertainment, and activities. However, food in Windjammer cafe inexcusable in terms of quality and selection. Food in main dining room improved during cruise, nad overall the service from waiters and staff was excellent. Presentation and quality of food in main dining room average compared to other cruise lines we've sailed with. Perhaps it's a sign of the times. Most others we spoke to regarding the dining experience were on the same page in terms of feelings expressed above. The next cruise we sail will return us to the line we chose for our two previous cruises, prior to this trip.

Ship Quality
Ship was in surprising good shape for its age
Food and Dining
Summarized in main comments. RCI needs to step up their game in this department.
Service and Staff
Staff was excellent
Nice offering of something for everyone, fro the most part
Children's Programs N/A
Onboard Activities
Nice offering of activities
Destinations and Excursions
Been to Bermuda plenty of times so knew what to expect. Didn't participate in excursions, but others who we spoke to who did had felt their experiences were enjoyable.
Cabin / Stateroom
Cabin was fine. We weren't expecting much since we were booked cat Z, but cabin ended up in good location and was accomodating for two people. No issues with cabin, and Steward was cordial and conducted his duties professionally with a smile.
Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey
No issues with port
King's Wharf, Bermuda No issues with port

Steer clear of the Windjammer as much as possible unless you want a drink of something or a salad.
