Review summary

We booked this cruise solely because we wanted to go to Cuba. The overall experience was not worth it especially for our honeymoon. I wished I had looked into other cruises or just booked a trip to Cuba.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Service was rude (excluding our dinner table team, they did do an excellent job) Food and Beverage options were limited with only buffet for lunch and the same food on the buffet every day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. The seated dinner in the dining room was the only very good meal.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Pools and hot tubs. We ended up with an extra day on the ship and there was very little to do.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The shows were limited, but were entertaining.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Our room steward and dinner dining room team was excellent and some of the shop employees. The majority of the rest of the staff was rude and uninterested in providing service. They often walked in front of you and were not helpful or put in any effort when you spoke to them.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
The ship is old and it shows. We had to have maintenance to our room multiple times.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Our HVAC control did not do anything. We had to call after freezing the entire first night. They came and turned the air basically off. They did not fix the issue so then it was too hot. They cam back and turned it back on and we basically had to accept that we had no control over the temperature in the room. The sink also leaked and had to be repaired. The cabin was clean and out attendant was very friendly, but little things like not filling the shampoo dispense until the third day and no breakfast door hangers were provided until the end of the week.

Ship tip

If you are set on going to Cuba look into other ships going or just travel to Cuba.

HAVANA, CUBA

Havana was amazing and the tour was very helpful and allowed us to see more than on our own.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Delayed and very slow, but I believe this was due to limited customs staff.
