Review summary

This is a cruise everyone should experience at least once. Weather was perfect. The ship was less than half full. Be sure to get out on deck early to watch the ship go through the locks.

Embarkation went quickly. We were on the ship within 10 minutes after checking in.

Food and Dining

All our meals were very good. I had the sugar-free dessert at dinner every night and they were delicious. The Crown Grill was excellent.

International Café

Service was quick. Good for a bite between meals or a good cup of coffee.

Slice Pizzeria

Food was ok. Plenty of choices.

All the food was very good except for the hot soups, they were tasteless. Very good chilled soups.

The ribeye was tender. Some of the best French onion soup I’ve had.

Loved that it was nonsmoking on this cruise, wish they would keep it that way.

Shows were good. The string quartet in the Piazza was awesome.

All the shows were good. It is quite chilly, so take a hoodie or sweater.

Crew were all very friendly and helpful.

Ship was kept super clean. Layout was easy to navigate as a totally blind person.

This an accessible stateroom. It was well-appointed and clean. It was spacious. Bed was very comfortable.

Ship tip

Some of the public venues are a little chilly, so tak a sweater.

Thank you for your review. My husband and I will be taking our first Princess cruise on the Emerald February 1, 2023. We are doing the 15-day Panama Canal Ocean to Ocean (Ft. Lauderdale to Los Angeles).Your review helped us get even more excited about our cruise!

Sounds like it was truly an amazing experience. We are going on the Emerald this weekend. Do you know if Cartegena's decision to recently close their port was temporary or perhaps a single occurrence as we had previously booked and paid for a Princess excursion and they have not provided an update. Thanks in advance for any information.
