Review summary

The ship itself is a good one. It just needs some overall improvement in many areas. I would suggest trying another company for a cruise to compare if you have done Princess before.

Embarkation

I think that check-in could be more efficient upon arrival. I also believe that any one with a suite status should be considered a VIP in line. Also, the picture taking while boarding process is the worst. It slows loading way down if there are families boarding and there are definitely ways to improve this process and make this a better experience all around. And yes, I could do better!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room food was not up to par. Breakfast, lunch & dinner all need to be improved and revamped. Service was excellent. Up-charge restaurants were good with outstanding service. Drinks and Bartenders OK.

Crown Grill

5 out of 5

The dining experience is top notch! All food preps and selections were great with the staff making sure that the meal was a good one to remember... Choose this option on board.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
In any of the Trivia games played, why not give something away that matters to the winners? Your Princess joke is "the prize isn't worth cheating to win"... Well, the prize for the most part isn't worth having even if I do win. Music Trivia could be revamped also to include more songs and less wasting time to re-play the selected tracks from the beginning every time. And yes, I could do a better job!

Average...

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Ship personnel - OUTSTANDING!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
All well maintained. Except... the internal cabin TV service is the worst as well. I could tell it is an old Analog system bandaged together to make it into HD. Too much picture noise, ship nose camera has poor quality, limited channel selection, audio not good and too much reported downtime of selected movies or shows. Not efficient and needs many improvements. And yes, I could do better technically!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Had to ask for standard items like robes & blankets. Room service great!

Ship tip

Don't take a 3 day cruise. Too many elements missing during the run. Go 5 to 10 days to make it a good experience with all shops, Captain's Table and restaurants open. You will hear the word "No or Not on This Trip" a lot less if you do.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

4 out of 5
Don't know why you have to drive around the entire terminal just to drop people off?

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

3 out of 5
Pick Up areas not efficient for people with mobility issues. You have to go too far away to the Convention Center for a pick up.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Now that was efficiency at its finest.

Thank God for the dry dock. She needs it. The hot tub jets barely work. The Horizon court layout is ridiculous..felt so crowded..furniture was old and sticky. Not enough places to be when the weather is cold. My stateroom was fantastic but the dining room was just ok. The Explorers lounge furnishings had sunken stained seats. The theatre is too small and dated. The main piazxa had ripped stained chairs. I expected better from Princess.
