Review summary

PSA For anybody looking to make the usual “don’t cruise then” comments that I see on here, MOVE ALONG. That’s RUDE . Not everyone needs to agree with your opinion and everybody has the right to dislike things even if you do not. The ship is outdated but it was in very good shape . The only complaint I have about that was the painting and repairs going on often . As for the dining on this ship, half of the food was nearly inedible and half was great. The Canadian bacon was always almost PETRIFIED . Anything along the lines of beef with gravy carrots etc looked and tasted like Alpo dog food . The cheeses were all too soft and not very good quality. The fish was always great ,no fishy taste and never dry . The Alfredo sauce on their fettuccini was AMAZING . The mussels were dry. I had a bit of an issue with the repetitive meals in the buffet areas . It was a lot of the same things over and over again but slightly different . The entertainment was a bit boring ..only geared towards an elderly crowd. There was nothing for children on this ship except for a very amazing children’s room for my son to play in however there was nothing said to the parents of children left in there coughing away all over the toys and other children & sure enough my son caught that same cough . Everything was so formal on this ship all the time even on smart casual nights it was a bit hard to relax when I felt like I needed to dress up just to walk through the ship . One one occasion a woman waited in the laundry room for our load in the dryer to finish and immediately took it out and put it on top of the dryer. I was so disturbed that a stranger put her hands all over my clean laundry UNDERGARMENTS INCLUDED and then left it out for anybody to see and it’s just the idea that it’s not anybodies buisness to be going through my stuff I don’t need to be worried if my things are all there or not . I was literally back for my laundry in the 35 minutes it approximately takes .. this woman flat out waited for the moment it finished . When I called guest services their response was “we can’t control everybody on the ship” . I called to ask that there be a sign written on paper and taped in the laundry room at the very least it wasn’t as if I was calling just to complain ,I had a valid request to help fix the situation because I was uncomfortable leaving my laundry behind after that . Disembarkation was a bit of a nightmare for us . There was a major lack of communication when it came to staff . Our son had to visit the medical center the morning prior to disembarkation morning . The medical center said that our medical papers and bill would be delivered to our room in the afternoon . Mid-day I went to guest services. She called down to the med center and was told my papers would arrive in the evening . Fast forward to 7pm ,I called the guest services desk and was told there was still time and my papers would be delivered that night . I woke up on disembarkation morning and my husband had to go down to guest services to insist that they get and give us our papers . Obviously this wasn’t something I wanted to deal with when I woke up as we were one of the first groups to be leaving the ship . Speaking of , that was another communication breakdown . I called as soon as we received luggage tags to our room to change the group so that we could leave earlier . I went down to the desk the next morning to confirm and get my new luggage tags. The night before disembarkation I called guest services to confirm the meeting area for red 2 and was told it was in the michaelangelo dining room ... WRONG. When we had went to get those medical papers I was told no groups meet in the michaelangelo dining room . Our room steward was great. He accommodated our two year old and his messes well . All of the stewards in the hall made friends with our son and went out of their way to make him smile and say hi each time they saw him on this trip
